If you're going in, I'd suggest either the Navy or the Air Force as those two branches offer the most and best opportunities to get a career once your enlistment is over......if you choose to leave.

You might choose to stay in and do a full 20 which means you can 'retire' before you turn 40 years old and STILL get another job if you feel like it.

That was my plan until my mom got sick.

Also, you will only be an E-1 for about 6-8 months unless you're a 'shytbird'. In the meantime, you will have NO bills and can just stack loot every month.

As other posters have pointed out, you make the military work for you, not the other way around.

They will pay for EVERYTHING; school, housing, medical, vacations, automobile, etc.

What are some jobs where I can I make six figs or like 75k coming out

You don't need to make '6 figs' coming out if you don't do dumb shyt while you're in and don't have any children.

Anyhow, consider the fact that airline pilots don't make '6 figs' initially and you'll realize the only way you're going to get to that tier is with time + training.

Closest you'll get to that right out the gate would be what my buddy outta high school did:

Naval Reactors Engineer (NR) Jobs in the Navy - Navy.com

Candidates must be graduates or students of an accredited college or university in the United States or in a United States territory pursuing a BA, BS or MS (preferably majoring in mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry or other technical areas). Those still in school may apply as early as their junior year of college and must have:
  • Completed one academic year of calculus
  • Completed one academic year of calculus-based physics
  • A competitive GPA and a minimum grade of “B” in all technical courses

They don't allow you to do this right outta high school anymore, so you'll have to get them to pay for your schooling in order to even qualify for this AFTER you've got some time in.

As I recall, he got a $40,000 enlistment bonus and some other perks. He retired and now works for Con-ED.

One last thing how long is the drone ploit school and what kind of careers can they get when they get out because that seems like like a weird skill to have

Drone pilot or Remotely piloted aircraft pilot is mostly made up of about 98% officer, 2% enlisted (theyre trying to increase the enlisted number)....So you must have a degree to more than likely become one.

You dont wanna be a drone pilot. All the drone bases suck and youre locked in a small ass, cramped, smelly room for 10-15 hours at a time with another man :dame: The job cant keep people which is why theyre allowing enlisted to become RPA pilots.

As far as civilian applicability, id say youre stuck working in some capacity for the 3 letter agencies. Great money i bet but not a lot of choices.

Thank you for all the insight brehs. I am still thinking about it, but there is an Air Force recruiter near me and I think I am gonna go see him sometime this week.

Like I said, I’m not an idiot, I know for a fact I could do extremely well on the asvab.

ASVAB is/was cake, breh. You score high enough, you'll get ALL the services calling you.

Also, you are not in a branch until you take the oath so you have time.

Alright brehs, I figured I would bump this.

I am 99% sure I am gonna join the Air Force :wow:

I made a 80 (raw score, something like that?)

On the asvab, and the recruiter told me I could basically be able to pick whatever job I want in the Air Force with a score like that.

So brehs, what would be the best Air Force things to do?

Depends what you looking for.

You want something that will translate on the outside and high paying?
Do something in Medical( Tons of chicks around is a plus too)
Comm
Finance
Air Traffic Control

If you want something high level Air Forcey type job
Intelligience
Operations

For future civilian prospects and if you can get in there i would go Air Traffic control or Comm. If you tryna have easy access to the best looking chicks i would got Medical. If Air Force secret military stuff interest you then go Intelligence.

I definitely want something that translates to the civilian world.

But the recruiter was telling me, if I stack my money right for 20 years and stay in, I won’t even have to work because I will be getting a stipend from the military for the rest of my life depending on the rank I retire with.

Which is kinda putting me in a spin.

He was also saying people that go more towards the “intelligence” field can get government jobs afterwards.

When you went to MEPS did you get priority? I know I did. I was able to skip people in line got lunch earlier and everything. We got the same score on the asvab too. I tried to go AF but the recruiters here are on that BS because it's a shyt ton of people here trying to go AF so I went Navy. The AF recruiter still call me lowkey.

CTN most definitely
I've could've gone CTN but I didn't think it was a retainable career after 4 years besides governmental jobs. I went IT. I think Nucs have the most potential earnings after leaving though but idk. Where does you're friend work? For the government? But really I wanted to go for an action job either Spec Ops, or Fire rescue but I don't know what you can do Careers wise after spec ops maybe contract jobs with the military limiting you to the government sector for employment. Being in your early twenties shooting tangos is cool but still trying to do that shyt late 30's and early 40s is different.
