Fighting random people on the street is not going to help you against a fighter the caliber of Jones.

Why don't you get that Jones is likely going to put Tyson on his back and the second that happens, his chances decrease dramatically.

Being able to fight in a controlled environment like Jon Jones does, with rules, weight classes,refs and time limits does not equate to fighting in the streets.

I'm not saying Tyson is powerless, his power lies in his hands. This same power is not going to be very helpful when Jones grabs a hold of him.

Wrestling is all about controlling your opponent. Jones is an elite wrestler, while Tyson has never wrestled in his life [to my knowledge], I think it's safe to assume Jones dictates where the fight takes place.

IF jones grabs a hold of him. he gotta get in close enough to do that...tyson could knock him out before that happens.

i can see this playing out in a number of different ways. im going to say whoever gets the drop on the other fighter is going to win :shake:

I dislike Jon Jones, but if he were to fight smart, he would win pretty easily. Jones throws around 220 pound wrestling powerhouses with EASE, imagine would he would do to Tyson. Now if Tyson lands clean, it would be all over. But Jones is not stupid, he would avoid striking with Tyson entirely.

If this were to ever happen, I would expect Jones to instantly shot for a double or clinch and throw Tyson to the floor. He would then unleash some ground and pound [elbows, punches, knees, etc] or choke him till he's unconscious.

it's a tough call - bones could ragdoll tyson but i don't see bones being able to take a clean shot (even a body shot) from a bare-knuckled mike...plus mike's a straight up goon.

TYSON is one of those grimey mothafukkas who will do anything to win in a boxing match elbows, trying to break arms, and biting etc etc and thats in a boxing match .. the streets is where tyson thrived, you don't think tyson would do some dirty shyt to win? im pretty sure he would ..

the thing i hate about UFC is that cage makes takedowns easier than in the pride days. Once u force the opponent against the cage its makes takedowns a lot easier. Thats why pride was more striking and less about wrestling/ground and pound. So in a street fight I'm giving mike tyson an edge. Jones would literally have to fight dude perfect; but if tyson lands one good hit its a wrap. Even a flabby and sick rampage got some licks in on jones so I'm sure a prime tyson could get one clean look at him.

That was post prison Tyson when he no longer had the heart, before that Tyson showed mad heart and passion to push through fights, check Douglas (yeah Mike lost but he was out of shape, and would have finished Douglas otherwise), check both of his fights with Ruddock. The whole fight Tyson back and he quits logic is BS when talking about pre-prison Mike. It's not even a question when bringing a prime Mike into it.
