Lasry tripled his investment and didn’t want to continue spending money into the luxury tax.
Fair enough. But still, he could be leaving a lot of money on the table over the next 3-5 years as far as team valuation appreciation.

He's white. That shouldn't surprise you
If we took group economics more seriously, there would be more of us in that position. Not excusing systematic racism, but there's a lot we could be doing collectively. Even MJ, he could've demanded an equity stake in Nike in the late 80s or early 90s but accepted a 5% royalty on Jordan Brand revenue. 5% stake in Nike would currently be worth $9 billion.

thats besides the point man... i dont see any of the family owned teams going to anyone outside the family. the maras still own the giants steinbrenners yankees, the buses the lakers etc etc. also you telling me he couldnt find a coalition of black buyers???:snoop:
Not sure why y’all think Jordan or anybody else on top gives a fukk about this race loyal shyt. That’s just something for regular folk to talk about and find pride in.

Exactly! People forget, as rich as the GOAT is, he’s near the bottom of the list, in terms of net worth, compared to other owners.

Also, a lot of owners in all professional sports lose money on their teams. It’s a dirty little secret that most billionaires who own teams, bought them as a vanity purchase and it’s not a really their main source of income.

Make sense

Jordan is only worth like 2 billion

Yall love to tell brehs to have 0 black pride and to not look at things through a collectivist black lens.

"He has other ventures like the Jordan brand" - some things are bigger than money.

And on the flip side we could say yall love telling black people what to do with their money off nothing else but being the same skin color and think it's healthy to live vicariously through them.

Why don't yall get some business and money and make these generational moves yourselves?

Sell the squad and the new owners need to SERIOUSLY consider moving the team to Raleigh...

They will have waaayyyy more of a natural basketball base in The R, logistics won't be crazy expensive as if you were moving outta state, etc. Just rebrand em as the "Carolina Hornets"...

Anybody buying this dumpster fire should seriously look at relocating to the hotbed of basketball in NC...
You, always talking about moving the Hornets to Raleigh

More Coli pocket watching....
Why does MJ selling the team and what he leaves for HIS family (who will be be absolutely fine with whatever puts in their names) concern those who have nothing to do with it so much? :mjtf:

Bob Johnson gave him a sweetheart deal because he was bleeding money. He wanted more but couldn't get anyone that soon to buy in.

That article is very interesting.
