I'll add,
NBA players tend to value offensive scoring ability which is why someone like Kyrie is called the "most skilled ever" disregarding the fact that Bball IQ is also apart of skill. Like as much as I love Kyrie, like how can Kyrie be more skilled than Jokic for instance.
Someone like Jrue Holiday who is a swiss army knife of skills might not be seen as skilled by just pure hoopers who just care about buckets, hezis, crossovers etc.
I also think a big factor is NBA players know who works hard and who doesn't behind the scenes as far as offseason training and practicing and they're very impressed by players who don't put in much effort but are able to succeed off talent. It's similar to going to school with someone who barely studies and is the class clown but still pulls off A's and B's. Draymond and PG have said on their podcasts that there are guys in the league who would be perennial all stars if they put the extra effort in.
