Deion Sanders still talked all this mess about greater purposes and elevating HBCUs only to turn around and take the first trash ass P5 offer he could get. Not sure what this image changes on those woof tickets people are punching in.

I think it just comes down to some of y'all worship celebrities so they can generally say what they want to and not be held accountable for anything and then get shielded by their fans under the guise of "hating" and "jealousy"... when people are making it very very clear the specific reason they're outraged. Don't come around talking all this blackity black black uplift create more opportunities HBCU shyt and then cash out at the first 1-11 white opportunity you get. Just cash your chips and keep it moving and most people who are tripping right now wouldn't trip.:yeshrug:
It's all a game and entertainment. Should be upset at yourself for taking it seriously. :ehh:

Most of those kids are likely to transfer out of that school, so why would they be mad? Nobody would have anything to say about Deion if he wasn't pumping up the whole rebuilding HBCUs and how kids don't need to go to PWIs only to jet off to a PWI at the first big paycheck thrown his way. 9 times out of 10, all of that build black talk is just rhetoric for someone to springboard off of the black struggle for their own benefit.

And this is all that matters, nobody else.

Truth of the matter is that the outrage over Prime comes from a place of jealousy more than anything.

Crabs hate to see a black man getting paid cause they got used to him even as a former football player being where they are, and as the old saying goes familiarity breeds contempt.

Somewhere along the way, foolish negroes lost sight of the fact that Deion Sanders is the real deal and while we happy he in the trenches, in the hood with us, he don't have to be here as he is a celebrity always. It was always him doing JSU a favor not the other way around. And when he decided he wanted to go elsewhere, that's what he did.
I dont think people are outraged out of jealousy. People are valid to be disappointed because they thought he was going to stay and transform HBCUs to be a destination for black athletes and bring some of that money they generate back to the black community. Nobody said he couldn't leave but 3 years seems way too soon. The original class of athletes that came to his school haven't even graduated yet but he's leaving. Those athletes he's leaving behind are going to transfer. We get why he's leaving we're just disappointed because what he was doing at Jackson state was having big effect on changing things. I personally have no problem with the decision just wish he had waited a bit longer to do it.

I'm not upset in the least bit and knew off top he was only using the pro black angle to up his personal profile.

But I understand why people are and am not about to let celebrity worship and the need to troll cloud my empathy :yeshrug:

That's what I am starting to see now, at first, I was like the man has to do what he has to do and get paid, but now I'm starting to understand the whole thing fully now, especially hearing some of his old videos popping up and how he talked all this talk about having the black kids return to HBCUs.

How can you encourage top black kids to go to the HBCUs when you're not sticking there?

Buddy didn't even graduate a class.

Deion did his job. In fact he did MORE than he had to do. He went beyond just coaching. He gave up money out his pocket. He elevated JSU and got them back to back championships. Those kids are clearly grateful and all said they learned a lot from him. Even the ones that dont transfer.. they are champs and got to learn and work with an NFL Goat. What would the kids be upset about? He is leaving JSU in a much better state than it was when he got there and that's all that matters.

But all this hate will only scare off the next ex nfl player from stepping up and picking up where Deion left off cause they see it aint worth it if folks will still hate on you for winning championships while donating back half your salary and updgrading whole facilities. Why deal with crabs in a barrel if you dont have to?
