Not only did they not attend one they really don’t even care like that to begin with. Now that Deion gone they ain’t gone never speak of HBCU’s again
That’s kinda the problem cause Deion ain’t gone speak on them again either.

Deion is the one that got people talking and caring, then he jetted out the first chance he got.

Why wouldn’t the people who were there just because of him do the same?

This really my only beef with all this. I can’t respect his hbcu > pwi marketing tactics when he just jumped to the first pwi offer that came along. I don’t see how it’s respectable to ask 17/18 year olds to sacrifice their future by coming to a hbcu but the first opportunity for you to make a sacrifice and stick to your commitment you don’t? But this is why from the beginning I’ve always been against this “support hbcu” shyt. Not because I don’t want to support them but how I never liked the idea of a bunch of grown adults who’ve got a chance to live their lives and earn their living many of them millionaires asking 16-18 year olds to sacrifice their future. fukk all that shyt go wherever the fukk going give you the most opportunity. Because as we see that’s what Deion just did. Supporting schools has to come from the top down. Meaning unless a bunch of black elite, celebrities, middle class, etc decide to really come together and support a few schools with resources (money, media, political, etc) ain’t shyt going change. A couple 4 or 5 stars every couple years going to a hbcu isn’t going to do shyt. shyt there’s power 5 schools that do that and still struggle with their programs.

They said we would ignore this thread, now lets see how many of "yall" ignore this simple, yet deadly breakdown:sas1:

Funny how when its Tariq,Umar etc they call it a grift before it even reaches a finale. But when its Deion its "He had to use black upliftment and race loyalty rhetoric. Thats how you reel in black people in order to get the bag king

I just want yall to remember this day,and remember this energy, the next time your quick to accuse people of "the grift".

Deion went into this saying he wanted to build up HBCU's. Now he's leaving for a white college and taking his recruits with him... how is that building up HBCU's?

And fact that he called it a "promotion" is a problem. You basically shytting on the hbcu and your players in favor of whites.

Without him, hbcu sports are gonna be irrelevant again now that he not drawing eyes and attracting recruits.

He built up JCSU and now he’s leaving. They got to make another Deion :yeshrug: There are guy here that went to and can name the more dominant football HBCU’s out here that don’t get talked about.Question is what will Jackson State do to maintain their momentum.

Most of those kids are likely to transfer out of that school, so why would they be mad? Nobody would have anything to say about Deion if he wasn't pumping up the whole rebuilding HBCUs and how kids don't need to go to PWIs only to jet off to a PWI at the first big paycheck thrown his way. 9 times out of 10, all of that build black talk is just rhetoric for someone to springboard off of the black struggle for their own benefit.
So him leaving means kids need to go to PWI's now? Does the message no longer stand?

Yea I thought Bomani did some bytch ass shyt going on CNN and downing another black man as him being some selfish individual when he donated half his one year salary to the school while he was working there to improve the facilities. Atleast 75% of the people on his new team are black. He still mentoring black youth in the same way. The kids going to Colorado just go to school there. They not all from Colorado or a bunch of rich kids lol

Deion didn't do shyt. In 4 years JSU will be back to status quo/worse and Colorado is probably gonna be rocking. The only person getting any real long term shot at success from this relationship is Dion.

You typically give coaches like Deion props for their work and would salute the brother to greater success and be proud of what he built himself into when you see the on field success and see all the things he's done for that team in such a short time.

But this dude decided to get political and talk crazy at the same time. Ok, politically you gave the program and those HBCUs a small shot in the arm and now it's back to status quo. You talked all that higher power shyt, but really you're a whole ass damn near 60 year old clown for saying that dumb ass shyt about elevating HBCUs and playing things out the way you decided to play them.

The folks with the capes flapping are also just joking around and mostly just trying to get a rise out of the people who think they've just been disrespected by Deion. Perhaps they see themselves in Deion a little bit and think they should be able to put on performances and get paid for it too. :yeshrug:
And this is what it all boils down to …this is what people really feel …so many people have such a low view of blacks being able to function without a messiah figure head that they know in their hearts that Deion was the entire draw not “HBCU culture” or any black brother hood or anything of the sort and they are sad they they won’t be able to exploit his talents anymore for their personal gain because they damn sure won’t be doing anything to keep these programs sustained themselves

He coached there for 3 fukking seasons …thats as long as most top ranked student/athlete’s stay at any school …he chose an HBCU as his first head coaching job to give his talents to just like he asked them kids to do …and then “sacrificed” half of his salary to do so …the reframing of this into something nefarious is nasty and shows no matter what black people do to give back certain segments will always complain regardless of how effective you are …that’s their “commitment” …complaining

I'm just happy that Deion actually had a "black" family otherwise they'd be under attack, too. I don't see why any black man with any career aspirations would ever take this job now.

He putting people on his staff in position to get paid. I think that was the main reason for leaving.
