That's not marketing teams and payola. I mean, look at Puff. No Way Out was a monster success that was actaully a great album with cultural impact. Every album, he put out after that was a flop.
Do we dismiss artists like LL, Nas, Jay, Kast, Snoop, etc. because they have mutliple platinum and even multi-platinum album for over a decade. Even a Too Short, Missy, Busta, Luda or a now Drake, Cole, and Kendrick.

Even today, guys like griselda are using their blueprint even if its less infkuential now than ever.
And theyre also the greatest rap group ever. Not even close. Between wu forever and supreme clientele the greater clan dropped 30 record label albums when they supposably fell off. They have like 70 albums 2.5 mics or higher. Atleast 5-5mic albums. A dozen 4.5, dozen 4mic, dozen 3.5 mic albums.
And wven after that, no said date in 2004, fishscale 06, cuban 2 09.

I love Wu-Tang but they defined NYC rap through the runs of Jay, Nas, Bad Boy, DMX just at the very top? I could go on from there.
Imma go with outkast then UGK then 3 6 is somewhere there in the wu tang mix which is still not bad at all

That would be the same as what he's doing with saying Three Six is top 2 in terms of influence. And let's be real, Three Six is an old school group by today's standards. They debuted in the 90's. They still ain't Top 2 though.
