How is that when they formed and dropped their first releases around the same time?

Paul and Juicy older then all of them and were bubbling heavy on the underground prior.

Juicy use to be known as "The Notorious Juice" and produced and sampled juicy before BIG.

He even dissed him from it.

There is no-one on wax prior to 3-6 doing what they do.
Bone thugs dropped a major label release with easy early for sure. But the sauce came from 3 6.

They both formed in 91-92 and Bone Thugz dropped an album first, why would Bone Thugz be aware of local Memphis rappers prior to this? Bone Thugz had their own style also they shared the same content but were stylistically different.

pardon me; but you're 1 of the few I have respect for on here and in my opinion has taste.

if u got time who u rating higher?

Off impact and influence alone NWA and Wu Tang comes to mind. NWA wasn’t even my era but they whole movement was huge and they crossed totally over into the mainstream. Wu Tang as well. Most posters on here mother will have heard of wu tang and NWA, but you couldn’t say the same for 3-6. I would rank Bone over them as well for the same reasons. These nikkas was doing songs with Phil Collin’s and shyt. If you just compare the records sold it wouldn’t be close.

3-6 are legends but they only really started to get recognition like that for influence once they were out their primes. If this was the NBA, they would be for sure hall of famers, but at no point was they ever the face of the league or won MVP

Outkast is clearly the best group ever and I’m a 3-6 Stan, I have their ENTIRE discography. You can’t be the best to ever do anything if you don’t have a classic album.

appreciate the reply n hear u.

3-6 always been underground heroes.

thats kinda why I Ryde for them...I always root for the underdog.

they defenitly don't have the house-hold name and accolades they should.

even after winning an Oscar.

they from the boonies 2. Memphis TN. they were "born 2 lose" some would say.

They unapologetic with the ignorant shyt 2 I love that.

They aren't and I like 3 -6 a lot.

But no one outside of Memphis could seriously put them before Run-DMC,NWA,Wu-Tang,A Tribe called Quest,Bone Thugs, OutKast

I'm not mad at him for believing in himself though
If people were on Triple 6 from day one I’d say they should be up there. People caught on late and now their catalog is being pillaged because they have old shyt that sounds great today. He has the right to believe that though.

they were "underground"and "independent" and "self-made". of course they're not going to be in the same light as their contemporaries who had the machine behind them.

but who's still rocking and influencing today and who isn't?

I’ve definitely listened to more 3-6 than Wu Tang and NWA. If I just had to vote honestly on greatest group I couldn’t give it to them unless I was being biased. I was remember before they had the name change and they was triple six. And yeah, they were always like one foot in the underground and one foot in the mainstream. They started off as underground and got commercial success, but never sacrificed their sound.

I'm a heavy wu-tang head.

that group changed my life and helped form me into the man I am 2day as corny as it sounds.
never really rocked with NWA like that but I'm from the era where VH1 documentaries told me how important they are :russ:

But 2 not be biased wu-tang fell TF off hard. GFK was carrying the torch for a minute. Their influence today is non-existent.

IDK enough about NWA 2 even comment NGL

Three Six Mafia is influential no doubt, but to say theyvare the most influential group of all time is an insult to 50 years of Hip Hop and shows a lit of you have no idea of what influence actually is. NWA and Run DMC are easily two of the most influential groups of all time. A Tribe Called Quest is more influential than Three Six. Brehs had artists and groups from different regions on that Native Tongues movement. I mean, when we look at what came from NWA, there is nk way Three Six is more influential than NWA. We are talking about groups that are credited as the reason other legendary groups even exist.

3-6 was doing shyt before that. Maybe cause I'm currently reading the memoir I'm taking Juice's word as facts.

But they had beef cause they felt they were biting.

I wasn't there I was learning 2 walk and shyt :russ:
