Tbh I don't blame Jump for paying to get Gege back, even for a short time. They don't really have any popular heavy hitters in the magazine (WSJ) outside One Piece. HxH is on indefinite hiatus usual. Kagurabachi & Ichi the Witch could potentially blow up with the right anime adaptation, but it is still early. Sakamoto Days could have been that, but the anime flopped hard, with the poor adaptation.

Series like Akane-banshi, Elusive Samurai & Witch Watch are all good series, but they are nowhere near popular enough to carry the magazine.

Maybe they will try to get Kubo back after the TYBW anime ends.

Hunter x Hunter is more than likely coming back for 10 weeks and it's gonna be running alongside JJK3 for a while. Togashi been doing the finishing touches to the next batch of chapters (he's at 418, two more to go) and from then it's just a matter of when Jump wants to publish them.
