Just a few...

1. Do feminists think it is sexist for a man to value a woman for her attractiveness before he gets to know her and love her as a person.

2. Why do some feminists hate pornography but other feminists claim that female pornstars are controlling their sexuality?

3. Do feminists really think it is 100 Percent possible for men to be completely equal when clearly men and women have certain abilities and skills that they are more superior than the other in?

I can't speak for all feminist because there are so many different kinds. I can only speak from my own perspective. So the answers that I give will be my own opinions and not necessarily the opinions of other feminist although I am sure many will agree with me.

1. I think it is human nature to value beauty however when it gets to a point where beauty is so heavily valued that it supersedes the woman's other attributes it is a problem. Not sure if that answers the question.

2. Porn is very damaging b/c of the large impact it has on the male psyche. It often depicts meaningless and violent sex. It dehumanizes the act by taking away any substance. And unfortunately many men model their own sexual lifestyle off of porn and see women as sexual objects. It really is damaging for both sexes; women b/c they are the ones being objectified and men b/c it can shunt their ability to actualize a positive relationship.

On the flip side, porn is an avenue for the expression of sexuality which is not necessarily a bad thing (IMO). Women are still very sexually repressed and an avenue to allow them to express their sexuality can be seen as positive.

IMO porn is not inherently bad. I think the way it is done is bad. Imagine how different so many relationships would be if it depicted meaningful sexual interactions.

3. I addressed this question in a previous post. Some do and some don't. I personally don't have a problem with gender rolls that do not diminish the value of either party but when it comes to education, the ability to earn an incomes and the ability to have say so over ones own body I think it is possible for these things to be "equal."

First, yes men are victims of sexism too. I agree there are imbalances on each end of the scale. However, feminist who actively work for social change are doing so on the behalf of women. It is not their job to fix every one of society's issues. There are women (and men) who take advantage of the current system however that still does not negate the still obvious inequality.

I was obviously talking about feminism in general which is why I posted the general definition and also posted that there are different kinds of feminist.

As far as Black feminism...you seem to equate it with Black women vs Black men which is so far off base. The goal of BF is to address many of the issues that WF address but from a perceptive that also includes racism. Meaning that BF are fighting "the White man." A separate movement was needed because like you said WF do not want to address the issues concerning Black women. So yes Black Feminist are going to address the sexism in their community, obviously. However fighting the systematic oppression is the ultimate goal.

Again anyone who uses feminism of any kind of a platform to bash men is not a good or fair representation of what feminism is about.

Don't put words in my mouth. I said that white women only use yall to get their stuff accomplished every now and then. You are pawns to them. They know that the shyt yall stand for is stupid and only leads to destruction of your families and your men even further. WF have already addressed all the women's rights issues which are also given to non-white women. What are WF not addressing that BF need to address? The only component that makes BF and WF different is race which should include your own black men. So forming your own movement away from the black men is again retarded.

BF is fighting the "the White man" Who the hell is the Black man fighting? Why do BF need to separate from the black man if she is fighting racism against the "the White man"? Is the White man giving the black man preferential treatment? :heh:

BF have not gotten a damn thing accomplished by leaving the black men to fight their battles against the white man on their own. BF is the perfect pawn to use against the black men and you don't see it. Go and look up the history of divide and conquer in colonialism. You will never ever convince me that black feminism has a place in the black community. I have debated and studied this topic with people a lot more knowledgeable than the people on this board.

Honestly, I don't even have the energy to try to argue with you about every detail of Black feminism. You don't seem to understand that today's current condition is the result of decades of hard work on the part of many people and that just because you don't see the relevance of the BF movement in this moment does not mean that those movement didn't make a difference. The fact that you think WW took care of BW issues is laughable. Black women have always been a separate working class. Unlike WW we have always had to work. And that work took place in a heavily sexist and racist environment and until recently (least than a century) being limited to only service jobs. Those are conditions that WW have NEVER had to face. Two separate circumstances. Two separate groups.

If you don't agree that's fine. We can agree to disagree.

As far as Black women breaking up the family... nonsense. Black women care about our rights and for some reason BM seem to think that has something to do with them. It has nothing to do with Black men. Black women's right take nothing away from Black men. Nothing. Not one thing.

Do you know what keeps the Black man down? PIMP CULTURE. And pimp culture is a result of systematic oppression. NOT BLACK WOMEN. We did not create pimp culture.

Pimp culture specifically encourages men to participate in misogyny, violence and criminal activity. It discourages education, emotions, fatherhood and community. It puts "wealth" over morality. And it is so very prevalent in the Black community and until Black men decide to stop accepting this and teach their sons better nothing will get better for them.

Women can't fix men. Men fix men.

PS I do not think the BW are perfect and I do believe that both parties have to contribute to improving the community. What I have a problem with is BM who put all the responsibly on women yet are not accountable for their own failings.
