. You're a father. That kids shelter, food, clothing, and health should be your responsibility and that's usually far more than $1k a month. I had my son on my own (somewhat) before I got married and that single parent life ain't easy and that was with my BM/future wife coming through almost every day. Yea the court system is jacked but that's life when you have kids. And if you get on terms with the bm you can navigate it. My girl wrote a letter and showed up in court with me with receipts proving I was handling biz so the judge ordered the minimum out of my checks which was far less than what I was providing anyway.
