Since we sharing our Negritude......23andme is bullshyt with the African breakdown though. Need something different.

I'm not at the top, but definitely in them upper echelons of Blackness :russ:

Yeah they are bullshyt, but they will give you your haplogroups and they will let you know if you have a match and the strength of that match in a country that they tested in.

I got a match in Ghana and I got the strength of that match. I later found out that match was accurate as Hell, but it was because my paternal line (Bissa people) live in South Central Burkina Faso; and they also have smaller settlements in Northern Ghana and in Northern Togo. They are Muslims who are originally from Mali.

Goatganda the pearl of Africa
Yeah it is expensive, because they don't have corporate sponsors. I bought the maternal and paternal lines and they gave me a discount on their website.

so they just tell you like hey your nigerian and your tribe is igbo but can you connect to say 4th cousins or whatever?

the maternal and paternal does that mean you have to get your parents dna as well?

I don't think that they give cousins, but they will let you know if your father's line (paternal line) is from the Igbo and since you are a man they can give you your mother's line too. Women can only get their mother's line.

If they didn't already have it then could get it anytime that they want. You were born in a hospital; take vaccinations; join the military; go to jail; see your dentist; whatever. So they could get it if they want it.

Well since Voodoo is from Togo and Benin; and it is found in Haiti and it was brought to New Orleans by slaves from Haiti. Then yes that would likely be correct.
voodoo was actually brought to Louisiana by Fon slaves directly from Benin/Togo. Its the same for African American Hoodoo as well combined with Congo and other west/central african slaves of course.

The Fon slaves were also taken to Haiti. During the Haitian revolution the White French planters fled Haiti and moved to New Orleans with their slaves. So the French were already in New Orleans.

I know that already, all im saying is that the Fon people are the direct influence & root of Haitian vodou, new orleans voodoo, and tradition AA hoodoo which all are practiced differently but share somewhat of the same origin.

Yeah I am aware of the roots of hoodoo as well. I think that we had some discussion on this in either an African religious thread or a peopling thread. I am not sure which it was, but it was informative.

The interesting thing that i found out is that these traditions may have gotten mixed up even more in the Americas, because I see people using the term mojo and it is confused with voodoo. Mojo is a charm, which I think is called gris-gris in Senegambia.

Spit gum
Drink out of a pop can or bottle

Bang a chick and make a baby and get with hit with child support payments; and they will have your DNA, because if the chick mentions you they they are going to get your DNA. Have a surgical procedure and they will have your DNA. If you have a kid or a parent or a sibling then they already have a close enough match to your DNA, but you might not know it.

most people in places like the USA, and even Brazil, are of Angolan and Congolese descent. the West Central region of Africa got hit the hardest and accounts for the majority of slaves in North America, followed by the Senegambia region. Its a similar story for S. America.

The Portuguese were one of the pillars of slave trade and were pretty much raiding and pillaging that region then selling and transporting the slaves everywhere. Hell, "Angola" (Louisiana state pen) is called "Angola" because majority of the slaves that worked the fields there were brought from Angola.

In Brazil, one of their national symbols, the martial art Capoeira, is actually something Angolan slaves brought over with them and masked it under the guise of "dancing", to this day, most Capoeira masters will tell you this, the martial art actually has two branches, the more popular and practiced one, which you see in movies, festivals etc, and a more deadly/aggressive version which is used with the intent to kill, that is often referred to as the "Angolan branch", which is rarely taught or practiced.

You guys should also read on Queen Nzinga:

I had a lot of other resources because i did extensive reading/research on this, but they in my old laptop, when i get a chance i'll pull them out.
