All for brothers getting their opportunity, however this situation should not be the catalyst for it.

In my mind, the only bright side is that a racist has been exposed for what he truly is. "Real american", icon to millions, well we'll see what the people have to say. What support/non support he may garner after all is said and done is going to be interesting to see.

i feel really bad about this, i do. i don't feet bad for hulk, i feel bad for the fans. i AM a fan.

but at the same time how can i support him?

Are they going to blur out his face during his matches on the WWE Network?

You shouldn't support imo. But you have to be able to justify your stance to yourself and as long as you are OK with it, well....

Any supporters of this, well......

Why not?

The entire industry is fake, guys get pushed for financial and stupid reasons all the time. It's usually about the draw, but people get pushed for having a good look, for getting mainstream press outside of wrestling, women get pushed solely based on being big breasted blondes, because Pat Patterson likes you, etc etc etc the list goes on.

So why shouldn't someone get a push for reasons of social responsibility? If Jack Swagger can be a champion for...some reason...I think that someone like Big E can be thrown a bone just to let fans know that the WWE is open to change.

I hate faux outrage but I'm kind of glad that Vince segment with Cena may finally blow up in their face. WWE needs a little humbling for all the black stereotypes they've enforced over the years.

If this leads to Cokeboy stepping down :blessed:

Only wish it could have been Kevin Dunn saying some foul shyt on tape

No idea who Jack Swagger is, haven't watched wrestling since I was a kid.
So what you're saying is effectively:
"They got him saying ******" :damn:
"What do we do?" :merchant:
"Black champ at Summerslam" :whew:

It SHOULD get worse...but probably WON'T because these blogs and media outlets will make it about Hogan vs Gawker and freedom of speech and admonishing another white privliged celeb from the 80s (Even though as last week proved Gawker does have a history of its own problematic shyt)

In an ideal world, WWE and Gawker should have tons of thinkpieces come out against both of them...but they wont.

Once again, how is that any more flimsy than any other reason for being champ in this fake world of pro-wrestling?

If you aren't a big fan than I might understand why you don't get it. This topic of racism in wrestling isn't new, this has been an ongoin discussion for some time now, and this Hogan tape is just blowing the door off the hinges. Obviously, this forum in particular discusses it more than others, but it's also gotten press elsewhere as well : Pro Wrestling Is Fake, but Its Race Problem Isn't

They were eventually going to have to come to terms with the fact that they've never had a legit black champion holding their main title (I'm not going to get into a debate about The Rock so don't ask). In a fake sport where you're given opportunities as opposed to winning them through talent, that has to mean something. Now is just as good a time as any for them to address it.
