as someone who grew up during the attitude era. you lost me at "randy orton is the only one i like"

Lol@Orton and his soft ass ways being raw..look up Brian Danielson on YouTube. .him vs Nigel McGuiness or KENTA. Believe me when I tell u....Orton will never be that RAW in this lifetime compared to that. Of all the cats..he named a sissy pretty boy looking motherfukker...dude got injured setting up his own finisher by slamming his arm on the mat once. B UT T E R S O F T.

Dudes chill, I've only been watchin' like a month, since like around Christmas.

From what I've seen, like his RKO is like the only decent finisher to me I've seen.

Punk, Cena, and Bryans' finishers are all lame to me.

@The Amerikkkan Idol

Chris benoit murdering his family happened. Benoit did all the wild sht over his career that everyone loves, and he was a walking vegetable because of it. We now live in a concussion syndrome world, and the tragedy shined a penetrating light on what the stunts and bumps was doing to the wrestlers. In general WWE was losing a lot of their top stars, and former stars, to spinal fusion surgeries, brain damage, and even death.

WWE has cut out (or severely limited) the blading, cursing, drugs, dangerous bumps, and overt sexuality that was appealing to the lowest common denominator of fan. The show is now mainstreamed, family oriented, and acceptable to advertisers, execs, shareholders, and TV networks. Its a much more responsible company and product now.

Now THAT makes sense.

I remember when that Benoit shyt happened. I think that may have been the only time I tuned in for that one show before I started back now.

I just wanted to see how they were gonna handle it.

I can see how they would've wanted to blame WWE for that shyt and the McMahons prolly got scared

yeah i agree with alot of what you said...

this shyt is like rap, nikkas let sub parness fly over the fence and front like its good....

Ive been trying to get back into it, but i dont see the talent... :yeshrug:

Like people orgasm over Roman Reigns but he aint really all that in the ring. I dont think he's even Scott Steiner level as far as actual in ring skill... he just looks cool... but if this was back in the days that nikka would been Crush or Adam Bomb or some shyt.... :yeshrug:

I havent watched in so long (maybe 12 years) so Im not trained to accept weak shyt... :yeshrug:

Daniel Bryan is dope because of what??? I seen his match with KENTA, it had it's moments but i'd take RVD vs. Lynn over it, maybe I dont know the subtext, because I feel that can effect your enjoyment of a match. Backstory, Titles Prestige, Rivalry etc.

These nikkas are corny tho and yall know it, or yall have been beaten into submission by this bullshyt... The nikka with the green sock on his hand? Jack Swagger? Fandango? Ryback fake Goldberg ass his power moves dont even look good :mindblown:, That fake Billy Gunn looking nikka... I forgot his name, his move sets wack, he's boring on the mic... that fake Rick Martell looking nikka Del Rio... Curt Axel!?!? 2 Cold Scorpio >>>>> Kofi Kingston... fukk em:camby:

Goldust old dusty ass putting on better matches than most of the young nikkas on the roster.... he's carrying these weak young nikkas to decent matches.

I do like Bray Wyatt... he's fat and sloppy and ugly how wrestler heels should be, just got that greasy evil vibe. He prolly woulda been able to put on in any era u name, even though he dresses like Heny O Godwin. He's the type dont really need a crazy in ring technique just a ill finisher and some dope psychology.
Dean Ambrose is cleary a fukking star, he was made for this shyt. Looks, in ring skills, Mic skills, he got the glow. :blessed:
waaaaay better than Roman Reigns but everybody got a gay crush on him low key and that's y he's dikkrode online. :wrist::wrist::wrist:

CM Punk should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Stone Cold ever... he panders to much to the crowd for cheap pops for my taste... he has his moments and hes mos def a legend. I'll admit that.

John Cena is such a dope human being, i respect the shyt out of him buuuuttttt, his look just totally kills me, what is his gimmick? Flip from whiteboys?

Ok ima just ranting at this point... But i been lurking this section for a minute just wanted to throw my two pennies in:pachaha:

Dude, I was watchin' Goldust huracanrana nikkaz the other night like :ohhh:.

Dude's gotta be like 40 something and he moves better than he did back in the Marlena days

Lol@mentioning Raven like he's a dynamic legend. Lol.

ECW Raven was a legendary figure dude. He was the face of that company when they were the most exciting thing in wrestling

My nikka said Total Divas :stopitslime:

I knew I was gonna get this shyt, but once I saw Eva Marie in a promo I was like, I might have to tune into this corny shyt, then I saw Trinity and Ariane and a nikka was sprung on that shyt.

Even Bret Hart's nice is kinda thick.

And her man seems like a busta:takedat:

I still think its mostly wrestling fans that buy the WM PPV, those Mayweather fights attract a lot of bandwagon fans and causal viewers.

I never noticed that with wrestling PPV's:manny:

I never heard of people causally discussing WM like they do with high profile boxing events and other major sports :manny:

Interesting that WM has the same buyrate as a Mayweather fight though :ohhh:

Dude, believe me they used to in the "Attitude/Nitro" era of wrestling.

You'd turn on wrestling and Dennis Rodman or Karl Malone or Master P or Mike Tyson would be there.

Wrestling was OVER in all of pop culture.

Think about it. Sunday Night Heat used to come on MTV, back when MTV was still like a hip channel that played music and shyt.

Wrestling is kind of a niche now, where you have die hard fans who love that shyt to an unhealthy level, which I want to try to avoid at all costs.

But yeah, wrestling used to be way more over.

Hell, it was more over during the Hulk Hogan/Cindy Lauper/Macho Man era too in the '80s.

Cole not calling the matches ruins it a bit for me. All he says now is vintage CM Punk or flying Uso and great submission manouver

Damn, watching Raw and just realize, they don't have like Cruiserweight/Light Heavyweight champions anymore?

To me, instead of trying to convince people that dudes like Daniel Bryan and CM Punk are beating up Brock Lesnar & The Big Show, they should let dudes like Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, etc. .. have their battles in a 230 & under weight division.

WWE has too much talent to just be fighting for a Heavyweight strap, Intercontinental strap, and TV strap.

What the fukk happened to wrasslin'?

The matches are fukkin' boring.

The finishing moves are lame

Is John Cena supposed to be the new Hulk Hogan?

Why is he so lame?

Is this nikka supposed to be funny?

Why the fukk do people like Daniel Bryan so much?

I watched dude and his finishing move is just a running knee?

That's what nikkaz used to start matches out with, not finish them with.

And what's his angle?

Is he supposed to be a hippy or a redneck or what?

On the show he seems like a cool dude, so I wanted to see if he was raw or something, but dude's a total cornball in the ring. All he got is that "Yes, yes, yes, yes,!!!" shyt.

t.

And what's up with CM Punk?

I mean, from what I've heard, dudes is awesome on the mic.

I saw his "Pipe Bomb" on YouTube and I couldn't believe the McMahons let him say all that shyt on TV, but I watched him wrestle and he's like meh.

His finishing move is kinda lame too. He just kicks a falling dude in the head
.

I agreed with you until you said this, why you had to go there? lol... but serioulsy Daniel Bryan and Punk are the only bright spots there for those of us who have been long time fans, their matches are normally entertaining and they represent what the average hardcore adult wrestling fan looks like now, and they can wrestle. Also Bryans finisher is a submission that actually looks like it hurts, the knee thing is relatively new, Yes in a way he is a hippie, he is a vegan and one of those protect the earth type of people, but thats not his character its just why he looks like that.

So to answer your question of why and how can we still watch, for me I agree with everything you said with the exception of the few things I addressed, and being that I grew up watching this stuff , I just like the type of entertainment that can come from a good storyline or match or just a good character... but fir the most part Its just something to watch to me :manny:, I dont need every show to be like the attitude era, for me to keep watching.. I mean I still watch college and pro football and there has been plenty of football seasons I thought were boring or didnt like the team that went to the super bowl but there is always next season or the next game that could be exciting. I know I can count on raw to do something I like withing the 3 hours and that is enough for me to keep me interested. and with the invention of dvr or next day downloads I can just put it on when im eating or need something to watch that I am half way interested in

The only dude I kinda like is that Randy Orton cat. He seems like he could've been raw back in the '90s.

His move at least looks like it can hurt somebody for real and his theme song raw as hell.

Its funny you say that I just had a conversation with my brother about that, he also thinks that way about Orton and thinks he looks like he should be champ.... you have a point there

What happened to the innovation in moves?

Here is your reason why its not violent anymore..

Plus, society as a whole now generally stifles unique personalities from emerging all that much. Something is wrong with you if you are too different. Then once a person gets to the WWE, their act can seem "forced".

I think this has alot to do with why wrestling has changed so much and doesnt have those over the top characters anymore. Everybody has the sheep mentality now and you are "bullied" or alienated if you are outside the "norm" Also the fact that those big 6ft plus dudes is leaning more towards football and other sports, because of the post attitude era being so bad, kids didnt grow up loving wrestling because everyone knew it was fake, ufc was the new it thing for senseless violence and it was no longer cool.

What the fukk happened to wrasslin'?

I gotta be honest, I started watching because I somehow got hooked on that "Total Divas" show (mostly because of Trinity and Eva Marie fine asses) and just wanted to check out what was goin' on in McMahonland, and it is honestly boring as fukk now.

I was addicted to this shyt during the late '90s during the "Monday Night Wars" and never missed Nitro or Raw. I even bought the fukkin' Apter rags like PWI and shyt. Hell, I bought all the video games too (WWF WarZone & WWF Attitude, WCW vs The World)

I mean, yeah, the story lines of DX and the NWO and The Nation of Domination and all that shyt was dope, but what kept me was the fukkin' action.

fukkin' powerbombs, piledrivers, shooting star presses, 450 splashes, moonsaults, german suplexes and all that crazy shyt that the luchadores used to do on WCW and shyt.

Now, watching matches, it's like dudes don't even powerbomb or piledrive nobody and it seems like there's no emphasis on moves and there's no blood or no real action goin' on.

The matches are fukkin' boring.

The finishing moves are lame

What happened to the innovation in moves?

Dudes like Chris Kanyon and The Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian used to do all kinds of crazy inventive shyt.

nikkaz out there now, look more basic than the dudes in the '80s. It's like they've gone backwards or something.

And what happened to the women?

I mean, Lita, Trish Stratus and Victoria and them had started upstaging the dudes a lot of the time, now it seems like women's wrestling is just an after thought. They just have a 7 on 7 match with the "Total Divas" vs. the other bytches in the company and that's the only thing you hear about the women. It doesn't even seem like the women can even wrestle anymore. What the fukk happened there?

Is this just how wrestling is now the McMahons got no competition from WCW or ECW or is it just in a low period.

Sorry for the long ass old nikka Larry King ass rant, but I was kinda taken aback by a lot of this shyt.

Oh yeah, is TNA any good?

I've heard they've got a lot of WWE's talent who got mad at the McMahons and split.

Well, it's been like 6 months since I wrote this and I'm hooked again.

I aint missed a RAW since.

I still think it's an inferior product to what I came up on in the "Attitude Era", but I am somewhat entertained by some of the shyt the E puts out there.

:russ:
Lemme revisit some of these proclamations
  1. Yeah, most of the matches are boring, especially in comparison to the attitude era matches I grew up on.
  2. I'm still disappointed by how lame finishers are. - I still don't understand how "the spear" and "running knee" are finishers. Finishers have the potential to make a superstar. I mean, just think about the The Undertaker's "Tombstone Piledriver" and how it's important to how a dude gets over.
  3. I'm kinda torn about John Cena. He seems to work his ass off in the ring and out, but the protective booking is out of hand and his "wigger" schtick is lame as fukk. I do bump "My Time Is Now" though.
  4. Daniel Bryan is not championship material. I said it before and I'll say it again
  5. Kind of glad CM Punk is gone. Wasn't impressed by what I saw of him
  6. Oh shyt, I don't know how I fukked this one up. I don't know what I saw in Randy Orton, but I take it back. Dude is the lamest dude in WWE. He's got a steez like a sleazy male stripper and is basically a glorified jobber for Bryan and Cena. I think I was fooled by how cold his entrance theme is and by the "RKO" being a knockoff of the "Diamond Cutter"
  7. I'm even more infuriated with how they do the women in the WWE, now that I've gotten to see how they've ruined Emma, paige, and just the "Diva" division with it's lame ass belt and their degrading storylines. It's just corny.
  8. And no, TNA is not good. I desperately wanted to like it, but it's even worst than the WWE, except for the women. At least their women are actual wrestlers.

How can you dislike Bryan, Orton, and Punk? Those dudes are Picasso inside the square circle.

How is Orton believable? This dummy once put the mic down and looked at the camera and Sheamus and said "what's my line". There is a reason why every segment he touches get huge viewer losses.

It seems like dudes are coming in here and liking Orton over how he looks..so I hope your female posters. No way you been undercover watching the E for a year, 6 months, 3 weeks, and thought he was anything close to the best thing going. He hasn't been in a top 10 storyline since like 2009 at best.

Thanks breh, I had never seen that ish before was absolute gold

When cm punk came he used to be a beast but shyt changed when they forced him to use the gts. The anaconda vice was too damn strong for a legit wrestling move...
