The big fuss of Whiteside not being the focal point of the offense needs to stop. It is clear as day in most of the games that Hassan post skills is below-average. He has slippery fingers, doesn't know how to work his way to the paint, and doesn't know how to read the defense when the ball on his hands. For the last time, it needs to be said, the offense doesn't flow well when we force the ball in Hassan's hands. Forcing the pass to Hassan led to many turnovers. He needs to fall back and defer to the vet till he sharpen his post game.

Goran Dragic is going through a mini-slump with his shot and it got so bad Sunday that he looked hesitant to try. He missed nine of his first 10 attempts, and his disinclination to keep firing was so clear that Dwyane Wade confronted him. “Shoot the (expletive) ball,” Wade recalled telling Dragic in the third quarter of the Heat‘s 100-97 win over Memphis. He continued, “It’s simple. We want him to be aggressive. I know what he was seeing. You get out of rhythm sometimes, but I still want him to be aggressive. When I’m penetrating and I kick to him, be ready to shoot. He needs to hear that we want him to be aggressive and shoot the ball at the right times. When he’s off the ball, he becomes a scorer. It’s my job. We’ve got a great relationship, and I can talk to him that way.”

Ethan J. Skolnick: Whiteside is 23 out of 24 in post-up points per possession (minimum 50 FGAs). You know who is 24th, though? Anthony Davis. Shooting 28.8%.

I'd still like to see them post up Whiteside just to provide balance to our overall offense. He is never going to get better if we don't give him in game reps. Plus when he does well on the offensive end, he performs better defensively.

Don't ask me what the stat means because it sounds like Whiteside is better than Anthony Davis.

exactly. their answer to hassan being flawed on offense is to freeze him out?.....what kinda backwards shyt is that?....how many prospect bigs come into the league and get froze out of their offense until they got moves like hakeem?....shyt don' work like that. to become a great offensively you need real in-game experience. doesn't matter how much you practice, if you aren't allowed to work in the game you will never take that next step. hassan literally gets one attempt. if he doesn't do some kareem shyt, he gets no touches the rest of the quarter. that shyt aint healthy. we have to remember this is really his 2nd season the nba. he doesn't even have a full 82 games in his nba career. he's supposed to be rough around the edges. I understand not making him the focal point, but they're acting like he doesn't even exist out there. we gotta start giving these opposing teams some different looks. our offense right now is predictable and ugly as fukk. people acting like our offense is some work of art when hassan don't touch the ball. shyt is terrible with or without hassan getting touches. but at least hassan getting some touches will help him improve in the long run.

Dragic putting in work

The key to Whiteside is he isn't effective catching it far out. He needs to get the ball a foot or 2 from the basket. The more he has to dribble, the less effective he's gonna be until he improves his court vision and footwork.
