Harbaugh got rid of Alex Smith after getting Kaep. I'm have no doubt he is heavily considering drafting a QB this upcoming draft

Might be the worst take I've ever seen. Herbert was better before Harbaugh and Roman's archaic offense came in to play.

This was a horrible game that took him out of "elite" talks for now but he'll bounce back. Hopefully they give him a receiver and fix their o-line issues.

The fact that you had him anywhere near "elite" talk is the problem

I watch the games I dont go off QB wins. I've seen him come back in 4th quarters, lead game winning drives, go to toe with elite guys in shootouts and make throws only Josh and Mahomes can complete.

That being said, his IQ needs to get better and the playoff yips are obviously real. So no he's not elite until he gets some real accomplishments under his belt.

Herbert is the DK Metcalf of QBs. Physically gifted and would be elite if they know how to play the position.
This.

Tua and Herbert have the opposite strengths and weaknesses. Give Tua Herbert’s physical gifts or give Herbert Tua’s touch/Football IQ and they’d be phenomenal.

I’m a fan of both and end up watching them both like “That’s a throw the other can make.”

:laff:

Harbaugh made Kaepernick and Alex Smith serviceable QBs. He made JJ Mccarthy a first round pick. The only reason the chargers are a playoff team is because Jim recognized who Herbert is behind all the hype and used him as a game manager. If not, Herbert would have lost them plenty of games playing Brett Favre style football

1.Herbert came into the season limping from injury so he was limited and had to get adjusted to the new offense.

2.They actually took off when Herbert started throwing more and they went away from the run.

You nikkas don't watch games and stick to narratives for players you don't like.

Prototype size,.big strong, mobile, tough, incredible arm, capable of awe inspiring throws, but will miss gimmes more than you would like. Great deep ball. Shaky decision maker with inconsistent pocket presence. He reminds me of 2002 Peyton Manning. Manning improved drastically from 02 to 03. It was his decision making and pocket presence which turned the corner. Once Herbert shores that up, if he shores that up..Will he take the next step and become truly elite, time will tell. He does need another WR,.though. A better tight end, too.
Every verison of Peyton Manning is miles better at QBing than Herbert. Peyton Manning was an elite pocket passer who was also an excellent game manager. Herbert is just a good balanced QB. Nothing more, nothing less. Dude got a bazooka leg, excellent legs for a balanced QB, he's smart but his processor is merely average. His accuracy is mid. Herbert is Mr. Traits. He looks like a million bucks. He's the ideal of what the white boys dream of when they create a QB of their own but mentally, he's fragile. He's not really accurate. Jim can't even hide him correctly

Tua health is obviously failing him but they are in the same tier and prototype. Good balanced QBs. Neither of them are pocket passers. Neither of them can game manage for shyt. Just good balanced QBs. Can do a lot but not enough.

Agreed. I shouldve said a poor mans version of the 02 version of Manning. But there was a time where Manning was an INT machine, who didnt manipulate the pocket that well. Peyton did play a hand in his coach getting fired because he kept throwing pick sixes. He was an elite passer but he was flawed.
