i dont think its superstitious...teams tend to have a certain culture/playing style regardless of the coach. if anything owners and GMs hire coaches to match that style. this plays out on the field and is why teams like the Browns and Raiders have such long funks while the Steelers and Broncos rarely miss the playoffs for more than 2 years in a row. It often takes a drastic change to break the mold whether its ownership change, a marquee #1 overall pick, etc.

The problem with this logic is...even if the Titans hire a coach who mirrors what they have had for 20 yrs ( which is highly unlikely) we know for a fact Chip is a different coach than Andy Reid, the culture is different than under Reid. Does that mean we win for sure....no. But that is much more superstition than any sort of exact science.
