I'm simply speaking from a political angle though which I admit is a moraless one. Do you disagree that most people are not educated enough to know that ICE is a new entity and is not the end all be all to immigration enforcement? I willing to bet most are not. Should they be informed and educated? Yep but you always have to work around the fact in politics most people need their information fed to them.Nah. Dead that. The nuance is in y'all putting effort into learning about ICE.

Most people like I said at the moment view ICE as being the face of immigration enforcement. Even the issues you mentioned, most people when they have that connection of ICE being a vital immigration enforcement agency they will say that is wrong but immigration enforcement is still needed. They don't have the connection that you can have immigration enforcement without ICE.

These voters need to get smarter I realize dems are bad at messaging but damn.
I don't disagree with this one bit and I have disdain of a lazy minded populace as the next dude. But has politics ever been about anything besides trying to win over people with what appeals to them at the most base level which usually means assuming most voters aren't going to educate themselves the most and the onus has always been on a campaign to effectively communicate their ideas to win people over?
All I'm saying is that I don't think enough has been done to get people to understand that ICE is a bush era organization and that by abandoning ICE doesn't meant you're abandoning immigration enforcement. Abandon ICE is the cart and the above information is the horse. People are seeing the cart first.
This is admittedly my anecdotal observation. The messaging is all I'm criticizing. Not the idea.
Ultimately, the problem with ICE is that it does not serve it's true purpose.

democrats should definitely support ice so even less brown people show up to vote for them than already do.
and the brown people who vote ain't supporting them like they should anyway so why alienate voters in hopes of courting people who will abandon you in short order.
