Kanye is reiterating something that artists have been saying for years. And this isn't anything new and it is common to ALL artists regardless of race. To put in in perspective Taylor Swift had to re-record her material in order to own her masters and still had to pay $300,000,000. If I am not mistaken, she was fighting with Scooter Braun over them.
On a grander scale, look at what Michael Jackson and Prince went through.
