You basically saying that's what this is all about, and if you are, you're agreeing with me.... You came at me on some shyt like I was saying something wrong.
I'm agreeing with you, I wasn't coming at you, just stating that you can get a piece of the pie, but it's on some desperation shyt.

Everyone else is saying, "Forget them, just do it on your own". KanYe is saying he's thinking bigger than just the typical urban fashion line that he feels the fashion industry puts rappers in a box..

Tell me what the fukk I said in the post above that is LIMITED just to an urban fashion line?

You can't hire designers, hire models, throw your own fashion shows, open your own stores, get your own manufacturers, create your own website selling LUXURY fashion?:bryan::bryan::bryan::bryan:

Goddamn some of yall motherfukkers are TRULY pathetic.... it's a little disgusting and unnerving...:lolbron:

And Daymond started with $0 and ZERO Celebrity status...

Kanye has $50million and is a Celebrity POWERHOUSE....

If Kanye had Daymond's skills, he could get to LV level one day.... I guess he just DON'T:ld:

Kanye wants to get to LV level overnight...he needs to understand that the reason why Mercedes-Benz is such a huge brand globally is because they have a long history...these muthafukkas invented the damn automobile. Another thing, these old Euro cacs that own these lines, they are not giving him any real estate to operate in. They are very territorial. I don't know why he wants to be recognized in Paris fashion shows. I could give a damn about some gay Euro model walking around in some shyt I will never buy. Kanye doesn't have patience which is an underrated trait. This is why looking for white acceptance is very dangerous. Once you look for it, you are bound to get played. Now he feels rejected because they won't let him all the way in.

This nikka has what is arguably in her prime, the most beautiful celebrity in the world in the last 10 years (by many, don't shoot me). That woman can rock a table cloth and still look fly. He should hire some designers to create some fly shyt and have her rock it awards shows and events and her fans will be begging to get the same shyt she wears. Then he will have some leverage to work with and he can start partnering up with boutiques.

THe FUBU example is a very bad example. Dude was making millions off a primarily urban style, easy to make clothing. Shirts, Sweats, Jerseys, Jeans, and Jackets. If you think about it, its not Kanye's style. TI has Akoo and it fits who is a person and he has some real good shyt but let's not act like its high end. I'm sure if you look at the numbers, he probably owns less than 10% of it, some cac owns the rest. Kanye really likes the Euro Style. He is a slave to their style. He should change the game up on these dudes. Make some fly ass dashkis and kufis and dump the Euro style if he is really rebelling against the system.

Kanye has already been given the opportunity he is crying for. In 2011 his 'friends' pulled strings for him to show his line at the Paris Fashion Week.
Major buyers for Neiman Marcus, Barney's etc were there along side renowned fashion critics.

He had hired talented designers and models to help him.

His show was slammed. No one liked it. They all gave him the :camby: "and what he do, act more stupidly..."

Now, what he is really begging for is a second chance but with the use of their money and designers.

Realistically this is the only post that makes sense with all the Kanye bashing. He did try to do it on his own, and it failed. He's mad because he feels that he needs to come up under someone to design stuff, and to have their co-sign. He feels that with that co-sign he can then branch off and do his own thing (like Tom Ford). He's saying that those designers equal credibility, and it's not something he wants overnight. He's spent a decade trying to break in and now he's just frustrated and he's attempting to take it to the public to air our his grievances it hopes that it will force somoene's hands. But it won't. He feels that he's had enough successes to be given another shot, but he's an "urban" artist so he won't get another one. He feels like it plays into why he is being marginalized and why he won't get another chance. His argument for why these designers should take a meeting with him is that he is arguably the most influential rapper of his generation and hip hop is influential worldwide. He believes that it should also be able to coincide with high-fashion. That hip-hop is high-level art and that it should also be able to influence the most revered categories of fashion. He doesn't want an urban brand. He was a high-fashion brand that is urban influenced and to eliminate that barrier. He feels like he's paid his dues, but no will give him the chance and that the fashion world is still bougie (it is).

The problem is (A) he handles himself like a child, (B) his last line wasn't that good, (C) his public persona is definitely being held against him and (D) no one owes him anything. (E) he might actually be bad at this and (F) he's attempting to use "Crowdsourcing" (his terms) to try to influence a group of people who could care less and his core hip-hop audience does not identify with this "struggle." Kanye West is not the right person to be delivering this message. Someone with a proven track record in fashion should be. This guy can't stop getting in his own way.

My god...:leon::leon:

It is some smart motherfukkers on the Coli afterall:blessed:

They should let us tag posts with "smart nikka, dumb nikka" .... so I can just look up smart nikka posts and not have to sift through this filth in here... having me thinking humanity is damn near DONE for:pachaha:

If you have $30million dollars FREE cash (which I know Kanye has at MINIMUM) AND you have a huge celebrity name (Which, honestly, is worth $100+++ million free Cash... Daymond John had to ride LL cool J dikk and be his BUTLER to get Fubu off the ground... Kanye, if he was smart, would ride his own dikk and his wife's dikk)

If you have this kind of money, and stardom.... And you cannot build your own business from SCRATCH.... There is only one ANSWER (No pun intended): You are a talentless fukkin bum..... Aint no way around it....:umad:

I KNOW I'm a motherfukkin genius.... Will I ever build a billion dollar company? Don't know... shyt is hard... a Million for sure (and I'm good with that).... Thing is, I have NO BIG MONEY to invest...

If I had $50million dollars, I'd have a billion dollar empire built within 10 to 15 years..... HANDS DOWN..... No question.

This dude, like the guy I quoted said, thinks too highly of himself..... He'll NEVER make it in that field because he's not humble... He needs to humble himself instead of acting like he's gonna put a gun to somebody head to make them buy his shyt.

I don't even know shyt about fashion... If I was Kanye, what would I do?

1) Hire some of the most AMAZING designers in the world to create ideas and build off my ideas.
2) Get amazing, revolutionary mock up clothing designed
3) Hire fine ass models to model the shyt
4) Hold my OWN fashion shows in Manhattan, LA etc
5) Partner with manufacturers
6) Open my OWN STORE (Like barney's) in Manhattan, LA etc
7) Get a TOP NOTCH, interactive, revolutionary website built to sell your stuff on (damn I just thought of a CRAZY idea in 5 seconds, won't reveal it here):leon:
8) Partner with a distribution chain
9) Promote, do interviews like this, get your wife wearing the shyt in magazines and talking about the shyt......

DONE.... DONE.... That is the fukkin answer.

Now, are you TAKING OVER the fukking world in one day? No...

You start in the biggest cities in America, sell online from a warehouse, and then work on expanding from there once your shyt catches on in the BIGGEST cities.

This monkey is just a pathetic business man and wants to blame the world cus he don't got Juice like that:heh:

It's actually not UNHEARD OF for Corporations to give entertainers a huge piece of the pie / ownership.... Diddy is basically 50 / 50 with Ciroc, he put so much power behind making them a powerhouse...

I guess the difference is, Diddy has that "it" factor, that marketing genius which this fukkin bozo lacks.... And if he was ANY TYPE of genius / business man, he'd do the shyt himself... PERIOD

That is all:steviej:

You're missing the point. Ye has attempted these steps for years with pastelle and other ventures. The Point that he is making is that...It's not about ambition or talent etc. It's about Skin color and not disrupting the status quo. There are no black designers who have or will ever reach the level of entrenched generational success that the people he's named has. This is a fact that we all know, and most accept. But Kanye is refusing to accept it.
It's beyond the rebuttal of him trying to 'earn' his way to the top. All avenues are blocked for our people to get to the next level. He is revealing the glass ceiling. The only possible way to do it is to play ball. like Oprah has. have book clubs for old cac women. Kanye refuses to follow a manufactured route that gets people like the ones that cut oprahs checks richer and continues to make even a billionaire like her a slave. Kanye is trying to get that Viacom money and be a creative in all aspects of the company, distribution and manufacturing. And he wants to allow a road for others like himself with his skin color the opportunity to do this as well.

I am so tired of this spin from Kanye fans that he wants to become 'Viacom' and he is some type of revolutionary. He doesn't want to change the game, empower black people, or any of that. He just wants his ego to be fed, that's it. No spin. No 'hes challenge the power structure' none of that. That's just shyt stans came up with to justify this inane behavior.

Do want to point out there have been a number of black designers who have had success. Yes, there is not a big fashion house 100% black owned/created, but that doesn't mean no black designers have ever had success, ever.

I'm only taking the man by his words and past actions giving chances and putting on artists that we all like and influencing our generation heavy with college dropout. I was a Rawkus disciple. He brought Kweli mos and Hov to the same table and changed the game. The way he's become a force in hip hop spilled over to mainstream and now he's trying to spill over to fashion with hopes of institutionalizing a creative outlet as one of is normal folk who made it to such a level.

You say stanning or whatever I'm just commenting on what he's doing from an observing and objective point of view.

Your personal feelings and mine have nothing to do with the fact that he's a force who refuses to stop and just might be blackballed or killed for it.

And as for other designers or creatives I'm not saying they don't have success, just saying Kanye is more ambitious and from his own words, isn't satisfied with having what the others have/had.
