There wasn't anything overly insightful or eye opening about this interview at all. He just seems deep and outspoken to people because his experiences are more vast than your average rapper..I wouldn't even consider him to be more "creative"...(try not using ghost writers Kanye). He has been in the game for a while now, and has mastered some key aspects of course..he's a star. To me he's basically like a kinder version of Diddy, only with talent in different areas.

For a guy that has achieved as much as he has though (on a materialistic level) he sure seems eager for approval. Dude just looks soulless/clueless.

Go meditate Kanye

Charlamagne expressed my views completely, it's nice to see he wasn't afraid of telling ye how he felt. I miss the old kanye.

Charlemagne made some valid points, but he missed the bigger point Kanye was making. His points about Kanye the person and his antics are valid. But his points about Kanye and industry are far off. Someone should be able to expand into another industry if they want. He should not have to just be happy with what he has which Charlemagne has implicated on more than one occasion. Yes, Kanye's problems are in an entirely different world but that does not mean his critiques aren't valid. He's just horrible at articulating himself so his good points get lost in those rants and his egotistical boasts. To say that Kanye West has no reason to complain or want to be compensated more for what he produces for a company is nonsense and is the equivalent to saying that athletes are paid enough so that they should not be complaining about getting paid what they're worth. They should just accept what the owners are giving them. Sure the fan gets turned off by millionaires and billionaires complaining about their problems, but that doesn't mean Kobe Bryant was any less wrong today when he said this:

Kanye West's Nike argument is entirely valid. If he's designing a brand that sells out every time, he has every right to want a percentage of the total sales. He has every right to want some ownership. You guys are letting the horrible way he delivers his message prevent you from seeing his point. As for fashion and design, I have no way of knowing if he's put in the work. It seems that he has, and maybe he's just not good but some of the stuff that he has spoken about has definitely hit. But I do know that this guy doesn't take any of this stuff lightly and does put in the work....in everything. He's been showing up at universities unannounced just to meet with architects and professors so that they can tutor him on design. I love Michael Jordan for basketball, but that does not mean Michael Jordan does not have the right to go fight for every dollar he can get and every endeavor that he wants. I get being turned of by Kanye West the person, but Charlemagne--and I'm including you by extension because you said that you co-sign everything he said--was getting at his goals and half the time came across as accepting the status quo...that is incorrect. Charlemagne's revolutionary talk is off as well because that's two completely different arenas (though it was Kanye who foolishly said this is his Civil Rights Movement). The irony in all of Kanye's rants though is that he wants to complete reshape fashion and the imaging, but he's asking the people who are maintaining the status quo to help him do it...that has not worked many times in history. What Kanye is attempting to do is to do is use his fanbase to garner enough attention so that he gets access, and I think that's a poor strategy too....because to yours and Charlemagne's point...his core fanbase doesn't care (but I could be wrong).

Actually he can because money is relative...If Sway lost 300k on his clothing line its equivalent to what Kanye(who MAKES 10 times as much money as Sway) is losing...

That n1gga need to quit thinking his struggle is so unique....
This is something I agree with too.

Kanye cant try to talk all this "us" talk and then say that because someone hasnt lost the same discrete amount as him that it isnt relevant. We all deal with our own shyt in our respective levels.

Ye is simply revealing how these major corporations use Urban/Hip-Hop
Artists like slaves and peons who are only able to shill for their
products that they approve in order to make them wealthy (I see you
Russell and Shawn Carter). He is also uncovering the fact that these
guys are unable, not unwilling to secure concrete ownership,
manufacturing, distribution, true creative control, etc to gain proper
support if they even attempt to establish their own independent
foundation. He's speaking on institutionalized racism, classicism, and
how basically entertainers amount to high-paid slaves who are first
glorified, then duped and used at will, only to end up tossed aside by
companies soon as they try to develop real economic empowerment or
become "irrelevant". He lost $13 MILLION. NIKE played him, Louis Vuitton
played him. Polo played him. He's expressing his frustration, he's not
allowed to? We should all actually listen because it is OUR DOLLARS that
prop these corporations up based upon the illusion that we are
supporting certain endeavors of these public figures. These corporations
that truly reap the rewards do not have our best interests in mind at
the end of the day. A lot of times we shoot the messenger, when we
should take the message out of their hands and read it first. We should
also look at how all of a sudden, the so-called "cool white boys" (read:
Jewish cats who throw sneak racist shyt in their shows/comedy films who
are " down with Hip-Hop" like Kimmel, Rogen, and Franco) are coming out
of the woodwork and clowning/turning against him, seemingly at the
behest of their masters to discredit him for speaking out of turn. It is
all a game. Kanye is just pissed because he found out that regardless
of what you achieve or how much money you make shilling for another
brand, the game is indeed rigged.

man Kanye wants to start at the top of the fashion biz...he's forgotten his roots he didnt start from the top of the music biz so why he think the fashion world is different? Like those fashion houses gonna respect what you did in music...like he said himself he has to keep his name in the music as thats part of the appeal of his 'brand'..that just goes to show the appeal isn't groundbreaking fashion designs or whatever...if he serious about fashion he needs to humble himself start from the bottom and grind it out...excuses? aint nobody got time for that :what:

You guys need to realize that he needs to have a product to put out to the market. He has none of that. He wants to be like Ralph Lauren but he has no physical substance just ideas. I just read no venture capitalists want to invest in his DONDA (his idea company or some shyt). Aint no nikkas going to be wearing leather kilts or whatever the fukk.

Nikkas was wearing polos way before him. Just because he sells some shoes, a multibillion dollar company should give him keys to the throne? GTFOH kanye.

I honestly believe in his delusional he thought that if he bought a shytload of stuff from Louis Vuitton, they would be like thank you Kanye, come join us at the board meetings. It does not work like that.

This is the kind of a$$hole shyt that makes me not like dude. How do u show up to a college unannounced looking for free classes, like there arent students there who applied and got admitted + are paying for classes within a schedule? Yeazle doesn't give a fukk about rules or anyone else. Its crazy.
