Where Kanye fukked up, is by thinking that he himself was a bigger name than Nike....and that Nike needed him for anything. Nike did him a solid, but his ego won't allow him to ever realize that.
Kanye doesn't want to do the leg work, he doesn't wanna pay the money to hire top providers for the product and distribution.... but more importantly, he feels that he is above having to start at the bottom, and feels he should get to start at the top tier, just cause he's Kanye West.
Adidas/Reebok already has the rappers in the fold, but they need that marquee name to be the face.....perfect situation for a megalomaniac.

Nike doesn't need to do that, they're Nike...they already have 2 of the most popular black americans on the face of the planet, and the most iconic sneaker series ever... you think that Kanye is gonna be a real threat to them?
the only way for Adidas to really "compete" domestically with Nike...as far as shoe sales in the hip-hop demgraphic, is through rappers endorsing them.
