You're missing the point. Forget about "impact" or "hits" or whatever.

I'm focusing solely on Ye's about the ability to create music that isn't just "Rap nikka" shyt.

Which he has done multiple times, as my post has proven.

But those songs you posted hurt your case more than they help as they still don't move him out of the box of being a "rap nikka". You posted songs that people would have to research to prove a point as opposed to everybody pretty much knowing songs The Neptunes did that weren't rap songs.

Like breh, you could've posted John Legend's Get Lifted album as Kanye produced the bulk of it, there's his work with Brandy, his work with Alicia, and his work with Janet, but you posted some relatively obscure joints that don't really prove anything at all.

Solo tracks, collaboration and beats for others. Don’t diminish Ye because the way he does it with samples is stupid good.

BEATS ARE TIMELESS

Well really it’s the neptunes, who Pharrell is apart of. But they ushered in new sounds. Kanye took what RZA and gave his own spin on it, he then created a new sound with sampling every album.

Your point? The finished product is what matters.

But Pharrell produced by himself for years and they were usually mid, that’s why you have to be specific.
Not every track Ye produced for others been hits. I’m not talking hits. We aren’t children, we still enjoy albums. I love good album cuts too.

When referring to the mid beats, I meant they weren’t that good, not that they weren’t chart toppers

This.

Posters were in here saying that was impossible for someone to produce at a high level for decades. That isn't what O was talking about. I was talking about the fact that when Pharrell went solo on the production, there was a noticeable dip in quality. That's not to say he didn't produce heat on his own, but when we look at the genius of what he brought to The Neptunes with Chad in regard to the hooks and the bridges, it wasn't the same.

Also, it's laughable that people are saying The Neptunes/Pharrell lacked soul and Kanye's production was more soulful. Why? Because if ya'll are saying this because Kanye leaned more towards using soul samples, then you have no understanding of soul. Take the horns on something like Mystikal's "Bouncin Back" or Clipse's "Young Boy" or the atmosphere of most of their productions specifically the jazzier sound.

OK now we're just splitting hairs, breh. :pachaha:Imagine my post included You Don't Know My Name, FourFiveSeconds, Gonna Love Me, Talk About Our Love, I Want You, Used to Love U, I Changed My Mind and Party by Beyonce.

My point still stands.

This post puts up a far better argument than what you previously posted.
