Why should getting Nike's cosign be the goal

This nikka should be the next Nike, with all the shyt he is talking.

I know brehs w/.000001 Kanye's money who have phenomenal legitimate brands they built from scratch. Why does Kanye have to do everything through the corporate channels he keeps crying about???

It's not getting Nike co-sign. It's getting that level of product. Reebok are a great company and they put out some great trainers. It's nothing compared the Nike Jordan's or even an Adidas Stan Smith. That's his ambitions. He wants to be Michael Jackson, not 50 Cent musically. He wants to create the iPad Air, not the Amazon Kindle (which is still a good device). It's the same with fashion.

To be fair to him the Yeezy's are pretty iconic. He wants to do that x10. What he doesn't want to do is put out the G-Unit Reeboks.

Do the people you know have products as iconic as the Yeezy's?

Fubu nor Coogi is gone is what I'm telling you. Both companies are still in existence and both are still making profit. Just because you don't see nikkas rocking it don't mean shyt. Southpole is still making money and if it wasn't it would've folded by now. The goal is to make a profit right?

It depends on the individuals goals. Those 3 brands you quoting are over bruh. Don't try to talk like daymond john created what Kanye is talkin about because that's not true. John is a great business mind and did his thing but the industry played him like a rapper. Used him up and spit him out. Fubu was like roc a fella records while Kanye talkin tryin to be universal.

He;s going to learn that "fast fashion" is called that for a reason. Tyler The Creator was saying the same thing and then he launched his clothing brand and had to back track because he couldn't sell it at the delusional price levels that he thought.

Big Props to

@Gator King who has some superb posts in this thread

@KillSpray, I like your analogy..comparing Kanye West to the occupy wallstreet movement. You also right about how he thinks his musical talent should transition and translate into other industries.

@StillNotSoSoft, your post about Kanye not being able to accept the reality....that all this time he was in a building with a glass ceiling.

just to name a few

None of the people or things Yeazle is crying about are stopping him from getting that kind of cosign or creating such an iconic product. If he were that brilliant of a designer, someone would have picked his shyt up on his terms and Yeezys would be regarded on the level he feels they deserve to be. If he were as big of an icon + historical figure as he claims to be corporations would be breaking down doors to have HIS cosigns, not the other way around.

Wanting to do something is different from being able to do something, and crying/"turning up" on people who have shown you nothing but love + support from day one won't change that.

Kanye said his ultimate dream is to be a combination of 3 white men...

:wow:

Exactly! Notice how he quoted MLK Jr. but when asked by CGod what is the end result of all this he mentioned how he wants to be a combo of 3 white men. That just shows all the "pro-black" talk is just pondering to his audience.

Great interview though I don't think it will change the opinion of anybody who already loves or hates Kanye. I kind of wanted more sparring between Charlamagne and Ye though. Also wtf happened to Angela Yee, besides talking about the concert she was mia during that interview.

Angela Yee's opening point about the n word being used by white people at his concert was good to kick off the discussion/interview.

So just a rundown:

1. Speaks of private prisons
2. Mental slavery in connection with brands/fashion
3. Modern day slavery.....

Wheres the hate coming from??

The hate is coming from

1. The fact that he is comparing actual slavery to being a slave to fashion brands

2. Talks about black community and lack of black business but is not actually in the Black community, has married and procreated out of the Black community

3. His outrage is a result of rejection from white-European fashion designers

4. Claims to care about people but I find that hard to believe...as he stated verbatim in this interview, he only cares about "God" and his family.

Does it really matter if Kanye West wants to become a billionaire for himself and his family? At the end of the day he's standing up to a racist system and speaking up. We gon turn our back on him or look down upon him cuz of that? If he wins, it's a win for all black people.

how is it a win for Black people?

Is him being a multi-millionaire a win for black people?

Jay-Z and Kanye got a ton of money, what are they doing for BK and Chicago? Not once in that interview did Kanye talk about Genocide in Chicago.

EXACTLY!

What makes some of us think if these guys get richer they will help the Black community.

:camby:FOH with that shyt. KD told nike he wanted his shoes priced at $100, and Nike made it happen. You mean to tell me YE had no input on his shoe? Nike probably showed him the numbers on how much he would make at each price point, and he either approved or agreed with what they deemed was a reasonable price to sell his stuff. Why didn't he protest them prices before it came out?:rudy:

Kanye is full of shyt. I don't believe that he wasn't in control of the pricing. I remember reading an article as to him explaining why he specifically priced the t-shirts at $100 dollars a piece. Now he's saying he didn't control the pricing?

you have a preconcieved notion that Ye is a narcissistic, abrasive smart dumb nikka. Just admit it. Youre the kinda person he talking about in the interview

Why would u put out something u dont have control over the price on

U really mean to tell me this nikka couldn't find anyone to make a white T-shirt for less than $120?

Why don't nikkas actually listen to/process what dude is saying???

He keeps callign himself a new slave, but then keeps handing over control and BEGGING for those same forces to take the wheel..... how does this make any sense?

Can u sum up this nikka's goals in like 2 sentences?
