There could've been a time stamp though I watched the whole thing (which was a good but still).

And this is something we already knew but everyone can't average 30 points and 13 boards and 3 blocks. But good bait title

Not true. When LeBron had to face the Mavericks in the finals, people always say Dirk won it as a lone star when in reality, he was allowed to be a one dimensional player while the rest of the team made up for everything else. Hakeem, LeBron, Kobe and others all had to do it on both sides of the court. I have long said that Dirk had that luxury of being one-dimensional and still winning

That has nothing to do with my post, but anyway Dirk was a lone star in the sense he didn't have another All-Star on his team when he won the title. Same as Hakeem in 94 (I don't remember if Drexler was an All-Star in 95). Marion hadn't been an All-Star for years, granted Kidd was an perennial All-Star the years before. Let's not bring Bron into this since he won his titles precisely when he joined other All-Stars, I hope you're not saying Bron had less help in Miami than Dirk in Dallas :francis:

The narrative - particularly on The Coli - that Dirk Nowitzki single-handedly took his team and won a championship is overblown and utterly ridiculous, and is used halfway to pump up Dirk's all-time status and halfway to downgrade LeBron's. Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler, and Jason Kidd all playing great defense during that run (and covering up plenty of Dirk's mistakes) allowed Dirk to not even really have to play D and just worry about scoring (and he didn't have to even make plays for others) and get all of the credit. And Kidd and Jason Terry creating on the offensive end for others and at times for Dirk allowed for the only thing Dirk having to do to be shooting the ball. And while he did a tremendous job of it no doubt he didn't "win it alone" or anything close to it.

Not the same as Hakeem. Hakeem did it on both sides while Dirks team made up for what he can't do on the defensive end.

Nope....not the same

I didn't say they did the same, I said they were the same in the sense they both won a title without another all-star on the team. Of course Dream was doing more on the floor than Dirk, especially on the defensive end. They both had a great team around them that complimented their games perfectly.

This is complete bullshyt. I've never seen that touted here.

anyone who saw that run knows it was a complete team effort with Dirk being the baron of the team. If Dirk wasn't a mav we wouldn't have beat them niccas.

Somebody had to score, would you rather it be Tyson fukking Chandler?????

And hes never been questioned for that by the media, just accepted for it. He brought no intangibles outside of scoring. And he was always quick to throw his teammates under the bus if they slipped on their defense for covering him up. He used to do that shyt to jason terry all the time. He tried that shyt on josh howard once and howard high ass gave him that "I aint the one" look.

He was the weakest link on defense last postseason and he kept looking at aninu and chandler like they were the ones houston was picking on when mchale acknowledge the strategy was for whoever dirk was gaurding to be agressive towarss the basket becuz he coudnt stay in front of his assignment
