I didn't like Jimmy Fallon back in the SNL days, but I must admit he's done his thing with his show & I don't mind him taking over the Tonight Show at all.

I like the karma factor with Leno's wack ass being pushed out now after the Conan fiasco a few years ago...but damn, I feel bad for Conan. They really didn't give the dude enough time & they allowed Jay to control them after the fact.

I'd love to know how Conan feels about this.

And now with the rumor about Howard Stern taking over Fallon's slot, too? :whew:

I know it's cool to hate Leno and all, but it's not really "karma" getting to him when he was the one forced out in the first place, which started this whole mess.

That said, I'm cool with Fallon replacing him, but will The Roots be kept as his band? They have too great of comedic timing to not be brought over.

It won't happen this time because it was a different regime (Comcast). They ready to show him the door now based on how Jay been trashing NBC the last few weeks. Also, one of the big reasons for moving the Tonight Show back to NY was Jimmy's from there and he wants to keep the Roots as his band...

who feels bad for conan? only thing he lost was the NBC job. however, he was paid like $50M by NBC to go away. plus he got a new paying gig at TBS where he only works 4 nights a week.

Exact same thing I thought when I saw this thread.

Conan won, aint nobody feeling bad for him.

shyt makes me think of people saying they feel bad for Grant Hill even though he's made millions of dollars and wifed one of the baddest bytches ever.

2 things: Why would nbc be pushing him out, if the tonight show makes more money in advertising than Kimmel and the Late show:what:

Second, Jimmy Fallon is a HORRIBLE interviewer. Horrible. As in, Carson Daly is a better interviewer.

doesn't matter how horrible the interview is. all the interviews on late night are rehearsed and horrible. he gets A-list guests and he caters to the target demographic (18-35) unlike Jay who gets the older demographic. Jimmy's so popular, he gets the First Lady dancing in skits, Springsteen dressing and performing like its 30 years ago, Timberlake on the whole week, etc

Why do they keep pushing Jay out if he is always number 1 in ratings? :why:

I was wondering the exact same thing. But Jay's been taking shots at NBC on his own show lately - his bosses can't just sit there and take that. I swear this Late Night stuff is crazy.
