:comeon::what: KD hasnt added nothing to his game this season, not only was he primarily a spot up shooter with awful handles last season and weak off the ball. he has adjusted his game to the point that he can now make difficult plays for him self on the ball as well as plays for his teammates

this mfer talking like kd just standing and shooting jumpers and shyt. kobe added his post game recently as recent as 07

That's fukking false. Kobe used to post up players in his ROOKIE SEASON.

Kobe always had a post game. ALWAYS.

The post up has always been one of his go to moves.

Stop talking shyt you don't know about.

Bottom line, I don't think KD is a "more complete" scorer than say '02-'03 Kobe. More reliable shooter with better shot selection, yes.

You're getting off track here. When you mentioned that Kobe was meeting/exceeding Durant as a 2nd option, you were attempting to prorate his numbers even though he had more opportunities than Durant has as a 1st option. The 2nd option thing can't be used as a crutch in this argument.

IDK if I would would say that Kobe had more oppurtunities than Durant. Let's not pretend like Durant wasn't set up for success too. When Durant was drafted, he became the instant franchise player and #1 option. Kobe had to work his way from being a bench warmer, to a 6th man player, than to a starter. And yes, Kobe came into the league with mostly raw potential, while Durant already came into the NBA as a skilled shooter. And as great as Shaq was, the Lakers did not become a championship team until Kobe finally started to hit his strides and molding into an elite player, let's not forget that. Also, lets not try to pretend like Durant isn't playing with the 2nd or 3rd best PG in the game, the 6th man of the year, and Ibaka who finished 2nd in defensive player of the year voting.

Not really.

I'm talking in terms of ability. Both at age 23 could basically do all of the functions of great scorer. Finish close to the hoop, hit the midrange J, the 3 pointer, pull up jumper, jumper off PnR, take to the post in a mismatch, etc, etc,.

Durant isn't going to try all of the crazy shyt Kobe did for better or worse. He's pretty restrained in that regard. Your boy Westbrook is closer to Kobe in that category.
