KD’s path to a championship was much harder especially when the Thunder didn’t know how to build a team. Because of the lockout Dan Gilbert fought hard to change how the players and league shared revenue so when the cap spiked there was max money the exact year KD was a free agent finishing his second contract. KD was able to make Max contract money even taking a little less compared to Bron on the heat. When Bron went to the Cavs again he was signing one year max deals to leverage moves he wanted.
