We gotta stop with this KD trying to copy Lebron shyt especially when the Warriors had a max slot when Lebron went to Miami
We gotta stop this whole KD trying to copy Lebron thing their stories and paths are different. when Lebron left the Cavs it wasn’t just any team he left it was his “hometown” team a lot of the backlash he received was of the racist ownership type. Think about the letter Dan Gilbert wrote (If something like that was done today Dan Gilbert would have been fined more than 100,000). The Boston big three was formed to stall him out from winning and they succeeded. Lebron has been know to get into his own head mentally on the court something KD has not. KD was drafted to the SuperSonics and that team was sold on the back of what his potential would be. Out West KD had to battle with the Lakers(who won two championships), The Mavs (who won a championship), and The Spurs(who won a championship) that’s even before the Warriors won one. KD’s path to a championship was much harder especially when the Thunder didn’t know how to build a team. Because of the lockout Dan Gilbert fought hard to change how the players and league shared revenue so when the cap spiked there was max money the exact year KD was a free agent finishing his second contract. KD was able to make Max contract money even taking a little less compared to Bron on the heat. When Bron went to the Cavs again he was signing one year max deals to leverage moves he wanted. KD is an all time talent his resume speaks for itself but those cacs were talking weirdo shyt and rarely asked about on the court shyt
Post 2010 all time greats Lebron, KD, Curry and I guess you can throw Kawhi up there have been battling but for some reason they are never in the same conference so the finals is the only place where it’s best vs best for everything so it makes since KD would see himself as the best in the World because of the last three seasons
The "who had it harder" thing can be spun any way, but for sure KD hasnt dealt with half the scrutiny and animosity LeBron has. That isn't really up for debate...
As far as on the court, you can debate your points and say KD had it harder but one could counterpoint with how the squads KD was going to battle with were consistently amongst the best in The League. Him failing to get "over the hump" in 9 years in OKC is really an indictment on him and his organization and Westbrook, these guys were annual title contenders and yes, while injuries were a factor in '14 and '15, there were more years injuries weren't...
LeBron played his first 7 years for an organization that didn't draft well, didn't trade well, and didn't coach well. That's an easy counter to any point about who had it harder on the floor, I think many (most?) would take their chances on a better roster in a more competent organization in the tougher bracket, than work with what Bron had in the weaker conference, if they had a choice...
Also Bron came into The League on the bracket that had a mini-dynasty, the Pistons. Outside of SA and LA, Detroit was the next best team of the 00s with six consecutive ECF and two Finals appearances, let's not just blow them off like they didn't exist. That mini-dynasty was immediately followed by another one in Boston, from 2002-03 to 2011-12 Detroit and Boston ran the East, 9 conference Finals appearances, 4 Finals appearances, that's a decade...
Of course in the historical sense those squads aren't dynasties but are a step below, you're naming the Mavs who never did anything in KD's 9 years besides the one lightning in a bottle year (props to them) when Boston and Detroit were annual problems in LeBron's way. And again, there is the thing about who you go into battle with...
