pretty much KD is saying AI is the GOAT (in relation to his size)
KD didn't know that Iverson and Zeke are the same height?
pretty much KD is saying AI is the GOAT (in relation to his size)
I miss T-mac/Kobe/AI/Vince/Ray Allen era how hard the SG position has fallen![]()
shyt let's not even mention the centers
What does pound for pound mean?
Did Isiah Thomas' career get wiped from the record books?
Scoring pgs aint new
the game is just shifting to small ball because big men fell off
Still doesn't mean the sg position isnt weak as shyt![]()
if he was 6'6" 210 like Kobe or MJ he woulda been the GOAT. if he was 6'8" 270 like LeBron, they woulda had to ban him from the game cause it woulda been unfair. to dominate like he did at 5'11" 160 was not real.
sg position is dead breh atleast you can admit to itThe prominence of them are new be. use stretch 4s and spacing is a lot more prominent due to the rule changes making it harder to run an offense through a back to the basket big man.
Not only that but SG was typically the "bail out" position. If the offense stagnated, you gave the ball to your SG because they were typically your best creator off the dribble but Iso Ball also died out in favor of a more PnR oriented game.
SG is weaker but we got a lot of great depth and young talent in the other two perimeter spots so I'm not stressing.
Curry, Kyrie, Dragic, Bledsoe, Wall, Lilliard, Parker, CP3, Westbrook, Rose (Possibly), Lowry, Conley
Lebron, Durant, Melo, George (Assuming he heals) Kawhi, Iggy, Batum
It's not too bad. It's nowhere near early 2000s but it's not as bad as it was in the 90s.
Jordan, Drexler...

Harden, Beal, Klay, Lance, Waiters, Derozan
its not as bad as ya'll make it out to seem, I listed some good young talent at the 2

@Draje are you seriously tryna argue this garbage crop of SGs is on par with the early 00s just because positions have been blurred? I don't even see any nikkaz on a T-Mac level, let alone Kobe. PG is doing great, but SG is damn near extinct as far as I'm concerned its just Kobe, some aight nikkaz, and a bunch of bums.
But he wasn't and if he was his game would have been totally different
The reason he was quick like that was because he was light and small.
Of course not. I just think the lines have been blurred to the point where guards are just guards. There was a much bigger distinction between PGs and SGs back then and their roles on teams.
Combo PG guards pretty much killed the SG position and then you got the emergence of a crop of young SFs who do what the SG used to do too which was "be the best individual scoring talent on the perimeter" for a team.
The SG is a dead position because it's pretty much been phased out and phased into the other backcourt positions but it's best years were definitely 2000s.
Hell, Harden is pretty much the PG for his team. He handles the majority of playmaking and creating for his team. He runs the offense far more than Beverly or Lin do.
Iverson would be classified as a PG like Rose or Curry. Tracy would probably roll as a 3 like George and Durant. Carter would switch between the 2 and 3.
I'm just saying that I don't really care as much because you got 1s (Curry, Rose, Westbrook, Dragic, Lilliard, Kyrie) who play similar to the 00 SGs of old anyway or you got guys like Lebron, Durant, Melo, and George who do similar.
Plus, the SG position will never die as long as Monta "have it all" Ellis is alive.
). I just think it's wack, but on another note it totally fits this weirdo anything goes decade we're in now.
