I hate when I say this but Vietnam is my favorite war to learn and read about. It was truly amazing. Terrifying for our soldiers. Black troops made up the bulk of the army per capita. We really were used as cannon fodder in the beginning. Then we adapted…

Yeah, the Vietnam War is fascinating to me. Two of my uncles served in the army during that period. One never went to Vietnam, he was stationed in West Germany, and the other did a tour over there. I did volunteer work at a VA hospital when I was in college and talked to a few of the veterans from the war. They were pretty humble guys.

While clearly fictional, I always thought Dead Presidents did a good job portraying the struggles Vietnam vets encountered coming home. Ken Burns is the GOAT documentarian.
