Hollywood North
As I was walking away, he did Nas is like and hate me now which werehe was forgetting lyrics and out of breath for both. My thing is, if ppl r gonna put Nas in the same league as someone like Jay, his live show (where someone can truly show their MC prowess) better match up n it didn't. Kendrick's live show was 100000000x's liver n I'm a passive fan I don't even kno his records like that. His shyt was live as fukk. He had no band n no hype man (except his Dj a lil) and he had the crowd going insane.
Hate Me Now is so insane live though its like a drunk dude going HAM and the crowd was just mashing when he did it.
People dont really trip over the breath control because most rappers lack that and flub lyrics but he also goes in lyrically on songs live (His second verse on Distant relatives when he did live was increible when I saw them on tour no trips). and what he lacks in that he makes up for with a great live band and a lot of little improv bits (his chemistry with Green Lantern is dope).
He does do a TON of shows per year with no hype man on his own so he carries a lot of the weight but for the most part I can honestly say from the 7times I've seen (Once with Jay as well) cause he still puts in the passion
Worst thing you can say is that his show are loooong (he know does 2 hour shows almost) and given how diverse his catalogue is you're gonna get some chill out moments but he always bring it back
Kendrick is dope too and live shows remind me of early Em live shows but it also helps when you're hot in the moment (What made God Son tour so dope back in 2003 was that Nas red hot at the time and you could feel in the crowd) because of that you're shows will always have that atmosphere with the youngins
For the record my boy saw Nas and Kendrick both live this year and thought both were equally dope. Honestly I think it depends on how many artists you see live.
A dude who's even more polarizing live is Mos Def tbh Some appreicate the chillout instrumental vibe he has and other find it lulls. With Nas though he brings it back with those Hate me Nows and Made You Looks. Its a shame you missed out cause like I said others like Piffey seemed to have enjoyed the show

(2006 Royal Albert Hall show that was the one where Chris Martin came out on Piano and joined both for Dead Presidents)
