Kendrick Lamar Calls Out Churches for Not Preaching the ‘Hard Truth’ of God’s Judgment

I feel he's just continuing in the footsteps of people like Malcolm X, who criticized Christianity for making people docile to oppression because they're so willing to forgive, and their willinginess to accept injustice on Earth because they're led to believe in the land of milk and honey in the afterlife and that all those who sinned against them in this world will be punished later.

Kendrick's kinda saying, instead of just loving everybody all the time - like the usual Christian message - if we recognize that God punishes the wicked, then we too shouldn't be as willing to accept the evil we see in daily life. Now, coming from Kendrick who also routinely voices a heavy political message, I feel this more has to do with calling out guys like Trump for their wickedness as opposed to people in this thread who are making it seem like Kendrick was speaking about homosexuals, abortion, etc. etc.

Kendrick constantly discusses socio-economic issues, and I think it would make more sense if he was making this religious point to talk about those in positions of wealth and power who exalt themselves highly, meanwhile the people in the streets are starving and killing one another. As opposed to making this about 'Kendrick wants us to not mix wool and cotton, stone homosexuals, and not work on the Sabbath'.

But I'm an atheist, so that's just coming from an outside perspective.

Yeah this thread is bowling ball shoe ugly.

But on the real, churches in general don't want to go in on the truth due to the following reasons:

• Dry snitching on themselves
• Making followers feel bad of their wicked ways
• $$$ to get the easy going "word">>>>>getting the "word" to change your ways

The problem with churches nowadays is that there is so much spiritual warfare its not even funny. There so much division between age, calling, and even views. Don't get me started with prophets and how they have to hide their true self due to ego and so forth.

I have witness so much foolishness with churches from the apostle and her husband being druggies, a pastor messing around with the women in the congregation, and a pastor dealing with the criticism of a older congregation. It's rather sad that these events are occurring and I seriously don't blame folks tor feeling some type of way about religion.

If Kenny wants to make that change, maybe he can start attacking these churches for giving out so much hurt, instead of love. Maybe do some more work with Lecrae in spreading the gospel to free some of these lost souls. Bottom line, fix the broken house.

This is truth. Kendrick Lamar is very spiritually inclined especially if you go back his real old music, you can hear the spiritual themes and lyrics.

Now what he is saying for every action there is a consequence. People think God can't forgive and reprimand you at the same time. No, you must face consequences for your sins in the past even though you're now on the path to righteousness, so you learn from mistakes and not sin again.
