I just realized, this is Kendrick’s Vol 2 Hard Knock Life album

That album was less personal and more hit-heavy, but you couldn’t knock it bc the hits were MASSIVE and Jay didn’t sell out to make em. It was simultaneously bops and good music

That’s what Kendrick did here. And like Jay, it has seemingly catapulted him to another level popularity wise. What makes it scary is that was Jay’s 3rd album, he was as only active for 3,4 years, and it made him a superstar. Meanwhile this is Kendrick’s 5th, 6th album and he been mainstream over 10 years and was already a star. I did not foresee him being an even bigger star. He bout to step over Drake artistically and popularity wise :picard:

Kendrick was already one of the biggest artists in the game, but to reach his zenith in popularity at the age of 37, 15 years in the game is completely unheard of….this is the age when rappers start to cool down. It’s good for Hip Hop to have the 3 big rappers in their late 30s. It’s not a young man’s game anymore.

fukk that. In this “new sales” era of streaming, this is equivalent to selling 1 Million in the first week. If this shyt keeps up he will have the most streamed hip hop of 2024 and that’s while releasing with less than a month and a half left in the year.

I wonder where it ranks in regards to all albums released this year
