I'm telling ya'll Kendrick Lamar is the hip hop version of The Emperor's New Clothes. No one truly enjoys his music and but don't want to be accused of being stupid so they pretend that shyt bangs.
I'll bet you 85% of the people in this thread are not listening to this shyt - it's already in the trash. And I feel like cac critics and establishment have been overdoing it with the praise and awards ever since he lost out to Macklemore at the Grammys. Listen, Kendrick is a talented lyricist but his music is wack. I can barely understand what he's saying half the time and he's overpowered by the production. He's a supporting character in his own music.
Also, Kendrick's fan base, outside of insufferable, clueless, hipster cacs, are nikkas who are intellectually insecure and they think that pretending to like Kendrick can give them some aura of depth and sophistication.
With tpab being praised as one of the best albums of all time, you can tell Kendrick's found his niche. . Also, who better to have in your circle than Kamasi Washington, Thundercat, Flylo and Terrance Martin?

yeah, thats the thing with kendrick.. you can dislike his music, but you can't say it isn't outstanding or amazing because objectively speaking, dude just dropped one of the best composed albums of all time (tpab), but then again you can't give him all the credits because like you said, hes working with the absolute best musicians in jazz & funk
Dude is a legend in the making though, he knows how to make great music from a pure quality standpoint
I don't know if he found his niche cause GKMC received just as dope accolades if we include airheads. Macklemore robbed him, which everyone agrees on including Macklemore if grammy's is what you are referring to.
Going by his 3 albums, there's nothing saying that the next album will sound anything as the previous.

Kendricks fanbase includes just about all great rappers, what it doesn't include is dumb people who can't understand what he's saying.
