This is great but I expected a lil bit more coming from the throwaway tracks of one of the best classics of our generation

the real question is: can kendrick top the masterpiece that is tpab?

longform-original-22214-1422911594-3.jpg

So TPAB:

-the consensus AOTY according to the critics, its also #1 on 90% of the end year lists.
Best of 2015: Music Critic Top Ten Lists
-the highest rated hip hop album of all time on Metacritic.
-the reason kendrick has the most nominations in one night at the grammy (since Michael Jackson in 84).
-has 2 songs being played in protests, one of them is named the new black anthem.
-being taught at some universities.
-had a scholarship in its name.
-influenced some goat artists like David Bowie, Prince and Chuck D, all in the same year.
-the highest rated album of the decade in any genre on multiple platforms like RYM that only take people's rankings into account.

-had RollingStone Magazine calling Sway in the morning to say TPAB better be #1 on every end year list because it's the most ambitious album of the year, musically.
-is probably one of the most respected rap album by modern jazz musicians.
-contains Barack Obama's favorite song of the year.
-is Barack Obama's favorite album

Bonus:

#Legendary

Kendrick Wamar the president of the new school...So many W's he can start donating em to less fortunate rappers

Tpab is a genius piece of music, even if you disagree. The music speaks for itself and it deserves every bit of praise
this makes me think of Henry Hadaso (writer for HHDX) who released his top 100 of all time

he said he enjoyed gkmc more but still ranked tpab higher because "the music was objectively better"

oh yeah, I have both in heavy rotation, I like both of them equally but there's no denying that tpab is MUCH better than gkmc

its crazy when you think about it.. the best jazz artist of the 2010s is kamasi washington and even he admitted his best work was featured on Kendrick's to pimp a butterfly :ohhh:

He wrote the jazz piece at the end of Mortal Man, which is perhaps my favorite piece of music on the album. That shyt is just beautiful. Apparently the jazz version will be on Terrace Martin's upcoming album, I can't fukking wait to hear it in full.

nobody tried hard, you're just mad you're not educated enough... you're mad you ain't qualified to give an objective opinion on it. It's ok to be ignorant fam
Lol I'm fairly confident I'm just as if not more educated than you. In other genres of music? Probably not, but I don't need to have knowledge of other genres of music to appreciate a good rap album. If you need to justify why the album is good based on the explanation given, you're trying too hard... in my opinion of course. I'm a Kendrick fan too.

This is what happens when you're being loyal to Terrance martin. Kamasi Washington, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Bilal, robert glasper... you can't dream of a better jazz line up

add to that george clinton, ron, also prince who was around :wow: And now Herbie Hancock :wow:... and a lot of hip hop producers/musicians (Dre, dahi, soundwave, quik, etc)

I'm not even surprised at TPAB's acclaim...Kendrick possibly the hip hop artist with the best team of musicians & producers behind him since Kanye.

Yup. Imagine if he got Dre to commit full time to some music. Dre working with all them would be funky as hell.
:wow:
