Kendrick makes moves as if his Spot is set in Stone.

Or maybe he's so secure as an artist he doesn't give a shyt about tap dancing for radio (Cole) and realizes he's not good enough at making club/radio anthems (Drake). He's doing what he wants to do. Interscope gave him a big ass budget and he spent it collecting the best jazz musicians around, recording on tape, and didn't have one radio friendly song.
:wow:

He secured himself as the best (mainstream) rapper of his era. He has nothing else to prove.

I'd imagine TDE/Interscope wants him to do GKMC 2 now. Hence him working with Metro, Mike Will, Travis Scott etc. Wouldn't be stunned if he scraps that shyt and goes left again...

The thing about Kendrick and his new shyt, just because he did something different and bold people are expected to just like it, not because it's actually good and invoke a feeling. One thing I would say in his defense is Wesley's Theory is actually tight as fukk and jams and he had a nice little flow on there. But everything else is just fukking confusing I don't care how many instruments he had I don't care who he went out and found to play on the album. Two claps for him for being different I guess and trying to make actual music that's cool. But it's not for him. He's forcing it bro

I would appreciate it if it was Bj the Chicago kid or frank or something that did this. It would actually fit and be enjoyable but this shyt is just a bunch of fancy mess.

It's not a deflection, the album tells a story, this is a small part of the story called "BACKSEAT FREESTYLE" it's obviously supposed to be childish compared to the rest of the album, he says "I pray my dikk get big as the eiffel tower", like bruh you really taking this seriously ?

Did you even listen to the album entirely ?

:russell: you conveniently skipped over the fact that BDKMV is childish too. Just how much of GKMC is childish anyway? That's the answer I need from you stans

and :russ: at a supposed-genius album deliberately having childish songs.

I used to think he should go back to the GKMC style, but when I listen to Untitled Unmastered sessions I think it would just be a step back for him. You cant stop using live instruments and go back to cookie cutter beats..

I'd hope he mixes it, like Untitled 2. Mixing trap with jazz or funk or whatever else.
