All of Kobe's off court problems were related to his family/marriage. Nobody believed he took the poosay but they were mad he cheated on his wife. Then when his wife threatened him with the divorce making "She wasn't with you shooting in the GYM," pop culture. Then his parents.

The one great thing about social media is that it blows holes in the claims of these insulated groups. This isn't 1990 where the narrative was wholly controlled and stymied by journalists who were buddy-buddy with "their guys."
I always bring up the whole "Terell Davis going blind during the SB against Denver yet going on to become the game's MVP" as an example of this. I'm sure he had a migraine, as he claims. I'm sure it was debilitating to an extent. As a former athlete, we've all had those days.
But going blind? BLIND? As in you can't see at all yet you're running rough-shod on an NFL field? You can't even go abruptly blind and safely navigate around your own damn kitchen! The fact that people just believe that and no one even thought to question that claim shows you how willingly gullible a whole lotta people are, which makes pushing BS narratives that much easier with zero push back.

I agree and disagree but the biggest grievance for me on why there is no “face” of the league amongst young cats is most don’t have a charm/charisma to them
Everybody he listed had a “IT” factor
SGA ain’t got it
Hali ain’t got it
Ant aint got it
Book ain’t got it
And so on
Yeah they have a nice game but it’s not something that translates off the court
Steph showed little kids and short nikkas they could make it
Lebron is Ironman status
KD even with his temper just has that pure shot
Mikes charm was through the fukking roof in the 90s
Same for Magic, he looked like you could just have a good convo
Bird was
for certain fans but his game was just too hard to write him off
Hell even Barkley and his campaign of not being a role model had people like
AI/Rodman were faces of the NBA as much as they tried not to make them
Them nikkas was just rockstars at one point
As a player you just have to have that uncanny gravitas that nobody can replicate

I disagree with this.
Trump is trying to cater to 51%+ of the population… the NBA is trying to cater to 100%
They are different. Trump is “us vs them” while the NBA is trying to get EVERYONE to watch
I would say that too, but thats another thing.....this generation isn't even stanning on the level of our generations. None of these Gen Z's will care about Ant or Ja as much as we care about MJ, Kobe, Bron, Steph. They got YT celebrities and all types of other shyt going on.
