Well that proves Kendrick point. Can't hide a nygga like Anthony edwards in the social media eraYes.. they 1000% did
League tried to protect their stars back then
It was more a side effect of progress. Nobody is ever expecting a 20-22 yo to come in the league married but it's kinda part of the promotion of going from a good NBA player to face of the league that you project the right image based around your age and expectationsWasn't Jordan more or less the face of the NBA before he became married in 1989?
I think it's more about mediability and the type of game you have, then if you're married. Antman's issue isn't he isn't married. It's he has 4 baby mommas and actively shyts on some of them?
And Ant is my favorite player in the league right now, but his off the court shyt is distracting.

Juanita was a huge part of Jordan's marketing to women.Wasn't Jordan more or less the face of the NBA before he became married in 1989?

He’s not correct. As SAS pointed out, Jordan was already the face of the league by the time he married Juanita. Perk just an idiot and a c00n.Pointing out their transgressions doesn't mean shyt. They were all still family men and Kendrick is correct. A good football example for a younger player would be Jalen Hurts.
This proves nothing since he was ALREADY the face BEFORE he married her.Juanita was a huge part of Jordan's marketing to women.

90s were different. People didn’t give a fukk about folks personal lives like they do now.I'll just say this. They wouldn't have had MJ in Space Jam if everyone knew he was out there carrying on like Ant

I mean this is what Perkins is really saying, but he’s putting it under the guise of “they’re married”

Don't get me wrong, being married takes you to the top of any industry and I advocate for it. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone at the top of anything that isn't married, even if it's not faithfully.I'll just say this. They wouldn't have had MJ in Space Jam if everyone knew he was out there carrying on like Ant
That’s because AIDS was huge in the 90s. Magic was whoring and drugging since the 80s, blatantly, ostentatiously. No one cared. He was an athlete and people only gave a damn about the game back then. Personally, they could do whatever they wanted. Long as you don’t catch a case, people missed the business about them.I think it was just different. Those tabloids papers in every supermarket were huge. That was all about the personal lives of celebs. And People gave a fukk in the 90s Magic said he had aids. Every wanted to know about his personal life and how he got it
The one great thing about social media is that it blows holes in the claims of these insulated groups. This isn't 1990 where the narrative was wholly controlled and stymied by journalists who were buddy-buddy with "their guys."
I always bring up the whole "Terell Davis going blind during the SB against Denver yet going on to become the game's MVP" as an example of this. I'm sure he had a migraine, as he claims. I'm sure it was debilitating to an extent. As a former athlete, we've all had those days.
But going blind? BLIND? As in you can't see at all yet you're running rough-shod on an NFL field? You can't even go abruptly blind and safely navigate around your own damn kitchen! The fact that people just believe that and no one even thought to question that claim shows you how willingly gullible a whole lotta people are, which makes pushing BS narratives that much easier with zero push back.
Athletes trying to tell half the story to prop themselves up? Nah chief, here's the whole a$$ story. To Kendrick Perkins and the rest of thesetelling dıckheads, here's your rebuttal, now kindly STFU.
