I wouldnt say I Am is better than Vol.2...I def wouldnt say SD is better than Black Album...and I wouldnt say Untitled is better than AG....Its funny cause I think Untitled and AG are both artists most focused albums as far as concept execution...that comparison could go either way depending on what u fukk wit imo...I put em at a tie but I think AG is more easy to take in tho...

All great posse cuts, but the album was more of a backstage predynasty mixtape with one major jay solo banger.
Nas actually made an album, albeit incoherent with plenty of misses, but his creative process was still there

On vol 2, jays posse cuts were also hit or miss
Ja rule, dmx, Swizz Beats, JD, and Timbaland made that album memorable and saved jay fr om releasing his 3rd consecutive commercial dud. Jay also got rocked on Resevoir Dogs and nikka what. And Ja Rule and DMX stole his shine with damn near identical styles. Every song wit memph bleek was forgettable. The ranjhaz, foxy, and too short made matters worse. The best pure hiphop track was probably "It's Alright"
Yes it was the pinnacle of his commercial success spearheaded by his biggest single ever. But it was also fueled by the DMX wave, JDs hot hand and Rush Hour.
Nas had the hate me now controversy, but the song was undeniably flames. It sparked I Am to go 3x plat despite the major bootlegging

Vs jays famous guest appearances, trendy producers, pre-made hits, him getting outshined on all 4 of the only noteworthy collabos, and lack of quality solo tracks (only 2)
As far as judging the quality of art in both albums, Nas and I Am all day. Jay wasnt trying to make a good album (from an artistic pov) with this one. His main goal were hit singles big name collabs and the Rush Hour publicity to assure his success.
Ultimately it worked, and he followed the same process 2 more times, before making arguably his best real album again, but was ironically overshadowed by Nas lyrical dominance once again.

It was like 27 songs, There's always gonna be misses (justify my thug, my first song, change clothes), but his peak tracks were in a whole different zone from Jay's (allure, 99 problems, threats)
And like kendrick lamar, this is just my opinion
