Keep it a buck, everyone knows I’m a Kdot stan. It’s a bad first week number. When you miss the low (320k) and high (350k) estimate it tells me that the streams started high and tapered off. People listened and many didn’t stick around to listen again.

It’s not the album people expected or wanted. I like it but yea…
Interscope had Eminem panic tweet, they were spooked by the streams

One of you young brehs school me…if an album drops and I listen to the whole thing on Tidal or whatever streaming service, but don’t download it or anything, how is that calculated as far as sales? And each time I go back and listen again?

Not at all lol. Barely any promotions and still did numbers. I’m thinking it still sells steadily.
He probably wanted to fulfill his obligation with TDE so I’m sure he ain’t tripping

Now its time to have that Dr Dre executive produced album with lots of Dre Beats on there :wow:

And also yes, it's going to go plat and do good numbers for weeks/months. I get that...but it's gonna last about as long as a Cole album lasts in the streaming era. IE not that long compared to the way Drake, Baby, and DAMN era Kendrick lasted on the chart.

Looks like his tour is already sold out so while the business of Kendrick Lamar is still booming, this album ain't what DAMN/GKMC fans expected or hoped for. And to be frank this isn't the album I'd drop if I was launching my new label imprint, launching new artists etc etc. Nor is this the album you can drop and disappear again. He's gotta drop within the next two years or none of this (pglang, leaving TDE, etc) makes sense.

That number seems really low for the amount of people that listened to it. It kinda makes sense though considering subject matter and not many "bangers". Numbers mean zilch to me since I enjoyed the album but can admit that it's his weakest project.

You won’t find an album released this year with more promotion
