He was at 17ppg in Utah. And a decent defender. When he got to Cleveland he only averaged 11ppg and in the playoffs is currently at 5.2ppg. Not even close to what he once was.

Lebron deserves some of the blame for that. Hood used to be a versatile scorer who could handle the ball. Now he just spots up if he’s playing with Bron out there.
This is true but I also blame Lue who constantly has weird rotations. He needs to do how Snyder ran his offense for Hood. If that means not playing him with Bron than do that

This is very silly though. Is it more important for Rodney Hood to be the best he can be individually or for the team to be the best it can be as a whole? Most of the league can put up individual numbers if given free reign, but it won’t translate to wins. Giving Bron free reign has translated to a form of dominance in the league. We should override that for Rodney Hood? :dwillhuh:

People want to blame Lebron for everything....Hood shot 44% (career high) from the field after getting traded to Cleveland....The problem with Hood is that all he(and Clarkson) does is shoot the basketball...where are the reb, asst, stl, blk, and defense?...for his career he is avg 3.0r/2.0a/0.8s/0.2b in 27.5 mpg.....Those numbers are mediocre for any player that is 6'4 or taller....mind you,Hood is 6'8.

But Chris Paul was selfish because it was their best chance to win.
Playing to your best players attributes doesn't always give you the best chance to win. This is a reason why Lebron hasn't won as much as he could have. Getting the most out of Chris Paul is not bettering your chances of getting the most out of your team. You don't build the team around your best player. You build a team around your team attributes. Doing this gives you best chance to win. Doing the former will have a bunch of guys not knowing how to play basketball without one player. It's why GS is so damn good.

The fallacy here is assuming LA built the team correctly around Chris Paul - they didn't. They didn't even build a team that could run with Blake. The majority of their signings were older guys that played against Doc River's teams in the EC playoffs or played for him. Turkoglu, Big Baby, Spencer Hawes? They never got a quality SF to put in the starting lineup and traded bench players away. Doc traded for Jared Dudley including a draft pick and then had to trade him away with ANOTHER draft pick. Look at those rosters - the Clippers losses were in series where they were never favored. And part of that is despite how great Chris Paul is those rosters couldn't hold up once he sat on the bench. That Houston series where they blew the 3-1 lead showed it perfectly: Clippers up 18, CP3 sits down - in 2 minutes the lead is in single digits.

This.

They traded away Bledsoe...who was a great guard for them.

There is no fallacy on my part. I'm speaking on principle, not specificity.

But people think Bron being the best he can be individually is for the best of the team as a whole.

Giving Bron free reign has had people calling his team trash.
