I don’t even watch sports shows as much. I’m not a fan of old players using words like “soft, coward, beta, and unnecessary personal attacks on black men that is not sports related. Like there is even lines Skip Bayless won’t cross that others think is acceptable like they know these guys personally.

I wasn’t a fan of the KD to Warriors thing... but the whole referring to a black man as a cupcake amd a coward on tv made me look at these cats different. Some exceptions.

Old dudes act like they were so humble and hungry for knowledge back when they were playing. :shaq2: They didn’t have social media and that’s it. They once felt the same way the younger generation has felt:childplease:
Barkley tells countless stories about Doc and Moses teaching him shyt about life. These players are too coddled these days. Everything is "hating".

There's a clear age divide hear....

All the young nikkas think it's hating and all the old heads here think it's constructive criticism :yeshrug:

As probably the oldest person here in the board...

I'm 46...

I think everyone is in their feelings and need to relax.

The only constant in life is....change...

In 20 yrs some youngster will say yall hating....

It's the way of things

Jordan doesn't really respect his stans. He respects guys like Kobe who would rather challenge him than praise him.

This.

Its why Jordan respected Kobe even as a 19 year old.

This generation of NBA players are just wack.

Meant to reply with this in another thread, but just put it here.

Jordan has just hit another buzzer-beater to sink the Cavaliers, but another game is afoot. A spectacularly gifted 6'7", 225-pound guard who averages 29.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists for St. Vincent-St. Mary High in Akron, LeBron is thought to possess all the elements necessary to do for some apparel company what Jordan did for Nike. Not only does he have the requisite high-flying game and an Iversonian street cred that Jordan himself lacked, but he can also turn on the charm when necessary. It's why LeBron is a year from signing what's expected to be the most lucrative shoe deal in history for an NBA rookie, estimated at $20 million over five years, and why Jordan, who represents his own division of Nike athletic wear, would want LeBron in the Swoosh family.

Tonight, however, LeBron is wearing a black coat and stocking cap bearing the logo of Adidas, his high school team's sponsor, which Jordan can't help but notice yet chooses to ignore. They schmooze for a few minutes, bantering about LeBron's upcoming game, until Jordan leaves, offering this piece of advice: "One dribble, stop and pull up. That's what I want to see."

LeBron nods and smiles. "That's my guy," he says.

I agree with this, but the responsibility is on the older people. They understand how the younger players feel, even if they feel they are giving constructive criticism. They were once in their shoes. So they have to be able to understand where they are coming from, even if they feel their intentions are pure. They have the wisdom from more life experience. They should know that, if a young nikka not trying to listen to you, the worst thing you can do is force it. Just let them figure it out for themselves.
