You guys need to stop this nonsense that somehow Russell held the same amount of power in Oklahoma City.

Russell and Kevin were near equals on the court.
Literally everywhere else in the organization and in the city of Oklahoma City....Durant was king.

Don't play stupid.
Durant had tremendous pull. If he was unhappy about ANYTHING in OKC, he could have flexed his influence.
And everyone knows it.

Anything Durant was unhappy about in OKC was almost certainly his fault that he didn't change.

and now we know why,cuz hes afraid to flex and be an alpha dog,he wants to be in the background...

You might have a point if

1) Shaq and Kobe didn't win 3 rings together
2) Shaq and Kobe were both 27 years old the way Durant and Westbrook are.

Edit - Durant turned 28 last week.
Same premise. KD couldnt win a championship in that system with Russ.

He was 2 minutes from eliminating Golden State and going to the finals.
Then he choked.

Seems to me that KD COULD have won a title with Russell.
And he's partly to blame for it.

:yeshrug:
He would've ran into a Cavs team that moves the ball and finds the open man and he would've lost to LeBron in the Finals again.

How do you know that would have happened?

Yall were certain that Lebron was running into a Warriors team that moves the ball and Lebron would have lost to Curry in the Finals again.

But that didn't happen.
