His quote about him having a lot to learn and not being as smart about basketball as he thought is why I've said repeatedly that, despite him already being an all time great, I feel we have yet to see his very best.

And I don't think we EVER would have saw his very best playing for that organization, with that front office, with those teammates, and with that complete lack of team structure.

The only thing people can hate on Durant for is not having the personality THEY want him to have. Boo fukkin hoo, get them rings KD :myman:

The hate is whatever. I'm not bothered by it and I wouldn't have hated on KD if he had chosen a different team (or stayed with OKC).

BUT:

He's on our team now so I'll gladly welcome him and his ugly ass game with open arms...Welcome to the Bay KD.

Nah, he had no say so in how the team shared the ball. Russ wasn't having that. And if you read the article he wasn't just talking about on the court stuff per se. Golden State is just a more loose atmosphere. That's why Steph is usually smiling on the sidelines.
Probably also why Steph felt it was okay to throw left handed behind the back passes to the crowd during the waning moments of the most important game of his life. :yeshrug:

You guys need to stop this nonsense that somehow Russell held the same amount of power in Oklahoma City.

Russell and Kevin were near equals on the court.
Literally everywhere else in the organization and in the city of Oklahoma City....Durant was king.

Don't play stupid.
Durant had tremendous pull. If he was unhappy about ANYTHING in OKC, he could have flexed his influence.
And everyone knows it.

Anything Durant was unhappy about in OKC was almost certainly his fault that he didn't change.

to hear people tell it you would think Durant had Ibaka's role..

If KD wanted Russ to be reigned in he could have said so and it would have been done......

What happened is that things didnt work out as he envisioned and he let his people throw Russ under the bus on his way out

Look we get it....he thinks he has the best chance to win in GSW.....that is FINE.....he has the right to choose his future and its the very essence of what makes free agency in the NBA great..

But this convenient spiel that people want to put on why things didnt work in OKC while giving Durant pass after pass is ludicrous

All fun and games until Henny Bron has him finishing second best again.

Henny bron went down 3-1 to much more flawed Warriors. He and the cavs made an iconic comeback, but if when they go down to a much more talented warriors there won't be anymore comebacks. It'll be more like Budweiser bron

That's great.

But maybe since you were the leader of the team in OKC, if you weren't having fun, you were probably part of the reason why.

All this shyt does....WHILE IT'S GREAT FOR HIM IN GOLDEN STATE....is shed light on the reality that for as great as Kevin Durant is as a player...he seems to be much more of a follower than anything.
Sounds like you wanted him to sign with the Spurs. :lolbron:

He was the leader of OKC? :russ:

It's foolish to equate loud, boisterous, recklessness with leadership.

And it's foolish to equate quite, reserved and composed with a lack of leadership.

But this convenient spiel that people want to put on why things didnt work in OKC while giving Durant pass after pass is ludicrous

Things didn't work out in OKC because Westbrook, Ibaka, and Durant were all injured in back to back to back seasons. They stay healthy it's reasonable to assume they have at least one ring and KD never leaves. Them trading Harden is obviously a huge factor as well.

That's great.

If KD went to San Antonio you wouldn't be popping any of this shyt at all tbh.

At the end of the day, there's only 1 ball. interesting to see how long it takes him to integrate into the offense, and what happens on the nights he doesnt get it.
This post would be a lot more credible if the Warriors weren't known for their ball movement. Last game against the Clippers, Klay was taking as many shots as he wanted and KD still scored an efficient 21 points in only 24 minutes. Currys points will go down slightly but hes going to average a career high in assists.

You don't know what I would and wouldn't say.

But if you're curious....
If Lebron leaves Cleveland to sign with the Spurs...you know what I'll say?

I'll say "I'm glad to have him. But other fans are right that this is bullshyt"

Which is exactly what Golden State fans should admit about Durant. But they won't.

But you'll believe what you want to believe, right?
