North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
He asked to be traded there.

He was also the same age KD is now and was an All-Star the first year. :cape:

Age you say? Barkley play a more physical game. He was banging inside which is why he average double digit rebounds for all but his rookie season. So stop with the bullshyt comparisons.

He didn’t ask to be traded to the Suns, and by the time they traded Barkley, they were rebuilding. Why would he want to be part of a rebuild?

Maybe I'm off base but Charlie's analogy of the bus driver has nothing to do with ring chasing but leadership and the pressure that comes with that. :dwillhuh:

exactly. The bus driver takes all of the blame no matter what. In OKC, Westbrook took a lot of the blame for forcing KD to leave. In Golden State, Curry drove the bus. In Brooklyn he tried to co-op shyt.

Actually he was 33 when he joined Houston…pippen joined the rockets 2 years later, so in this pic Chuck is 35, maybe even 36.

Pip was 33 a whole season removed from an all star bid, dream was 35 and no longer an all star. It’s obviously not the same as either GS or BK. Especially not GS. Comically so

So yea it’s a pretty sad angle for him to take at all let alone after being swept.
Who gives a fukk how old they was?

The league was old as a whole they tried to form a “super team” and win a ring and failed. If we’re running with the narrative let’s be consistent.

Durant is 33, how many injuries has he had, how many deep playoff runs? 40,000 minutes logged in his career. At this stage of his career he’s still elite but he’s a jump shooter his slashing ability is gone. I don’t hear any sympathy for KD. I see him being destroyed for struggling against a fine Boston team that zoned him with 2-3 guys throughout the series.

He’s at a disadvantage anyway dribbling since he’s so tall. It’s a miracle he has the handle that he does but being that tall is always gonna cause issues with his dribble being limited.

Well since durant will not put his head down.
to dribble drive and finish under duress.
with textbook finishing of the jordan ilk or type.

His handle will continue to suffer.
Simply because a defender knows he is going to pull up. picking up his dribble to shoot over the top.
Not selectively.
Every time.

It ia a reason reggie miller never won a title.
He was a jump shooter.

It is a reason jerry west lost all those finals.
wilt gets solely and erroneously blamed for.
West was only a jump shooter.

You can not as a long gun win being just a jump shooter.
It is why kobe needed all premium pedigreed parts to win. It was because kobe was a predominantly a jump shooter. The reason lebron loses as well is because he really never committed to being a dribble drive threat. Bron regulated himself to being just a jump shooter. Or a drive and kick specialist. Which is predictable and easy to beat.
Bernard king was predictable because he became just a jump shooter.
You can not win in bball just being a jump shooter as a lone wolf. Surrounded by inferior parts. Or against a seasoned pedigreed and well coached opposition. It is a reason dr j is dr j.
It is a reason dr j is the evolutuon of sam jones.
It is a reason michael jordan is actualized.
as the next alien upgrade of jones and julius.
As the untouchable guy in bball history. As mj was a dribble drive specialist.
To then in print elevated.
to being a deadly shooter on the perimeter(imo jordan was always fire from the field.) Yet the narrative is written that way.
to make it a point to key in on success.

You have to be an expert dribble drive guy to always succeed. Coupled with being fye from the field. Being just a jump shooter you will fail. Even with surrounding next world talent.

To succeed as a lone wolf surrounded by menial parts. You have to be a dribbke drive god.

Of Which durant does not do.
Plus will not and has not commit to.

I'm one of the ones who thought he was getting undue props for those Warrior runs because I thought Curry's impact was being downplayed heavily, but the pendulum has swung way to far in the other direction. I mean the man is coming off a torn achilles! That injury is usually the kiss of death for athletes, and he's playing at a top 5 level still, at the age of 32! Historically speaking, 99% of athletes in Durant's shoes would be washed and out of the league, so what he's doing is incredible honestly. I didn't look at this series as a failure, to me, what Durant has done is a testament to his greatness, and even if he doesn't win another title from here on out, I still think prime Durant is one of the rare few you can build a championship level team around, just like Barkley was; you still need a few breaks to even you're good enough to be a contender, it is what it is.
Bruh stop:mjlol:.

nikkas talking about KD's achilles injury like he didn't arguably look better last season than he did at Golden State.

2 years later, and now KD's injury is a reason why he sucked in the first round this year...after he had a great season the year before...

Dunno if it was mentioned but Kyrie observing Ramadan and fasting had a drastic impact on his energy and game. Bruh was on fumes out there after that epic game 1. And the thing is whatever team he on gotta expect this around this time of year. He either gon be hurt or fasting

He not the only Muslim in the NBA. What's effecting his energy even more is his lack of conditioning and not playing the whole season and preparing his body for the playoff grind. He just recently started playing regularly.
