your math not mathing

Luka, Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, Shai Top 5. Foreign. then you got Wemby who is top 20.
Growing up in Hamilton, he did not make the St. Thomas More junior team in grade 9 and subsequently played on the school's midget squad.[8] He ended up winning team MVP and leading St. Thomas More to the midget boys' city championship.[4] He then attended Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School before heading to Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 2015.[9] "I just thought I needed to play better competition ...," he said. As a senior, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 18.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists

And Embiid has literally been in America since he was 16 :mjlol:

Why? People act like we suck at basketball we literally have won pretty much every gold medal and still have almost all the great players in the league. The world is only catching up because it’s like a billion of them and only like 10-15 million Americans
What does USA Olympic basketball, which features the 15 best players in the country who have access to the best training and facilities in the world, have to do with product of basketball in the United States as a whole?

Anyone who knows anything about basketball at the middle school, high school and college levels can tell you the quality has gone down. Players are less prepared to play college and pro basketball than they ever have been.

We have college coaches outwardly saying they’re not recruiting high school kids because they’d rather have a 24 year old super senior,

Then on the other hand you have 14 year olds in 6th grade playing AAU against 11 year olds but there’s no problem with the basketball system here :skip:

Actually a Canadian invented basketball
First NBA game was in Canada as well

It's our game not yours
Be for real - it’s nowhere near Canada’s game. If I invent someone and no one around me adopts it and another country adopts and modifies it, and popularizes it - can my nation really claim it’s “their” game? You know better. Let’s not engage in an anti-intellectual argument. Dude literally invented it while in Massachusetts.

I don't know why they choose to ignore that US still has like 95% of the best basketball athletes worldwide and really that's what's keeping the gap where it's at up top. It's okay to admit that the system needs some tweaking

Meanwhile in Europe..... 4 out of 5 on the first team are Americans. Same "inferior" system can produce the best professionals playing their style
