I hope KD crosses over to some major network when he’s done playing. One of a very few who tells it like it is and isn’t just out here bullshytting to get attention.

KD is tripping. You don’t condition your body to play “100 games a year” as a pro by playing 2-3 useless AAU games a day from 8-18 years old. I do agree a balance is needed.

You do need to play more basketball, but what kind of basketball are you playing? AAU games look like glorified gym class, and that’s including sneaker circuits. No defense and no structure, it’s just reinforcing bad habits.

I get he’s sticking up for the basketball here but it’s alright to realize a lot of the system needs to be revamped.

Why? People act like we suck at basketball we literally have won pretty much every gold medal and still have almost all the great players in the league. The world is only catching up because it’s like a billion of them and only like 10-15 million Americans

Not just that… but the top 30 players are almost 90% American

Some of the top 2-3 guys are international, but everyone else is American

There's many folds to the argument about the world catching up.

However, as it relates to us winning Gold, in the last Olympics we only did so because of the Old Guard (Bron, Steph and KD), because none of the newer generation proved they were capable of doing so. If those three decided they didn't wanna play, then I'd quite comfortably say not only would we have not won Gold, but we also would've struggled to even medal.

And we'd be having a different conversation to what we're having now.

Now that those three won't be at the next Olympics (certainly not in the same capacity), it begs the question on who will stand up when you have all these other elite international players who'll be leading their respective nations. Purely for the that fact, the margin closes, by how much, we won't know until LA28.

Sure we won because of the old guard we have some pretty young superstars in the making rn which is super promising and really our only true competition is France I think we are fine. We have to remember that while Europeans as a whole might be more prevalent now they all come from different countries and really for that French team outside of wemby they are gonna need a lot of those guys to get good quick.

Also I don’t feel we struggled to get the medal we just had a bunch of guys who rarely play together but with the new commitments they have to make again I think we will look much better tbh our biggest problem and issue come world competitions is our guys don’t really play together that much
