Still in school, but I work in museums.

Bolded: Internships; starting Sophomore year. My uni allowed us to get certs from different colleges, so you can easily pair your BA with software engineering, business, etc. It was a public ivy, so that name carried a bit too. I got 6k summer research program because the woman in HR liked our mascot and made some calls. But, most folks go wrong with BAs because they entered the degree plan without any plans, and never figured out anything while there. If you know what you want from it, it can be extremely lucrative and flexible.

its the false illusion of options. In DC and ATL, “everyone” looks good, makes over 80k, drives a luxury car, takes vacations around the world, and eats at the best places [or so they make you think]. The issue this is all surface level stuff so at glance people think there are tons of options thus the creation out of this world standards, when in reality much of the people are a combo of flexers + damaged people unsuitable for anything other than a few weeks/months of fun

when you’re broke or inexperienced then you tend to live on the surface level (i.e. dudes see a fine chick and say I wanna marry her, folks being in a bunch of short term relationships, etc).

when you gain experience or have stuff to lose you become way more calculated in how you approach things.

that fine chick below the surface could be drowning in debt, addicted to pills, an alcoholic, have family trauma, etc. etc. Are these things you want to take on because she looks good? Alot of brehs lack discipline and end up getting screwed over, life is the best teacher but not everyone is lucky to take an L that they can bounce back from.
