lol yes we are. 10 years ago driving while texting wasn’t illegal...now it is in most places. Laws change all the time. The fact that you have to get your licenses and registration and inspections renewed every couple years is all about limiting access to cars...you can’t even let your insurance lapse for one day and still drive legally
Yet, you can easily drive drunk, high or without a valid license/insurance.
i guarantee you know many people who've driven drunk, high or without a valid license.
Cars are not harder to purchase...nor are cars being made in lower amounts in direct response to car theft or deaths or people driving without proper license.
The difference is with those rifles you can do it faster, with less effort, more collateral damage and at a distance. With a handgun at least you have the option of self defense, if you have another pistol. With a rifle, whoever shoots first is basically going to win. This ain't the military in Iraq where people are expecting a war zone. Setting has a lot to do with it

I asked you, how do you reduce the availability of guns to people who obtain them illegally without putting stiffer restrictions on the gun makers and distributors?
Last time I checked, cars aren’t created for the primary purpose of taking lives like guns are. That’s a stupid analogy.
False equivalency. For starters people have sued car companies for their responsibilities in injuries and deaths and have won. NRA won't allow that for guns. Secondly cars main purpose isn't to do body harm to others (for whatever reason), as capable as cars are of doing such. This is why the knife equivalency also fails.
And if cars and guns are the same, then the NRA should allow the CDC and other govt entities to deploy funding to study their impact on the country's health and other factors. They don't. Cars are heavily regulated in design and sale, and car owners are generally registered with the gov't. Hell I think even if a car is used off road it's still registered for property tax. So let's not play that equivalency game, because that will lead 2A advocates down a path they don't want to go down.

I’m for sensible gun laws. Hell im for an assault weapons ban. However my issue is there is so much assault weapons on the streets that white folks will have the monopoly of them. The last assault weapons ban was weak because assault weapons were grandfathered in. Which meant they technically were not illegal. Hell it was still legal to sell them in gun shows. What I want is a level playing field. If you gonna have a real assault weapons ban go all out. Throughly disband and disarm white militias. And the cacs that horde ammo and guns disarm them as well.
The biggest problem is that there is so much guns in America that any regulation or law passes it will take years before you see an effect. And since we elections every two years. A regulation could be overturned. There is more guns in America than the Chinese,Russian,Indian militaries combined. That is a lot of weapons. I want black folks to be armed not to fight the government but for self defense against renegade white militias.

it's a poor excuse to say "i'm ok with mike supporting the nra or using their platform to get the message out" when he has no control over how they use his words and image as propaganda. case in point, the above tweet and pending campaign vid from the nra with killer mike face all in it being pushed in black communities during midterm elections and the next presidential election.
it's unacceptable for him, as a supposedly "woke" black man, to use a white supremacist platform to talk down to black people. and a double foul for allowing himself to be ho'd out as a propaganda tool against gun control advocates.
I remember the guns MLK and the civil rights marchers used to affect change.

If you need anything more than a handgun to take down a living thing, you got much biger problems. If a typical criminal in your area has a military grade weapon that can kill dozens of people in combat in a battlefield, something is a bit off. And cartoonish with basic logic.
